SK, your point about the power steering bracket. I had to modify mine to get it to fit, it's simply that the thing used to bolt to the head and the top boss was longer than the lower two that bolt to the block. With the 30, all 3 points bolt to the block and the top boss has to be cut back flush with the lower two.. 5min job with the whizzer disc. (This was 20 stuff.. haven't seen a 25 bracket recently so it may well be different).

My car is also registered with the RB30 here in WA. If you take it over the pits all stock looking (mine looks pretty damn stock at the moment) and with a small turbo, it is more likely to pass. Take it over with a high mount etc and you're asking for trouble :) I figured, baby steps :(

Edit: I tried to do some text drafting to get the point across but the text didn't want to line up properly :D

If you had built an RB25 or RB26 forged bottom end it would have cost more

You would have had to spend that money regardless of whether you used an RB25 or RB30 bottom end

They are directly related to power outputnot whether you chose an RB25 or RB30 bottom end to makwe that target.

So you can spend the same or more on another? You've got the bug and it's hard to shake, trust me I know.

I was just giving an example of what money i have spent to support the RB30. power does not come cheap.

I would sell and never buy another fast car again. Buy a house instead

And you think a car is expensive :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014:

Wait for the water rates, land tax, council rates, stamp duty, legal fees, removalist costs, furniture, fittings, faulty plumbing (you think mechanics charge, wait till a plumber gets hold of your wallet), leaking roof, painting..............the list is endless.

apart from the plumber and leak issues, all the rest I've dealt with and yes..

very expensive to own your own house..

The council gave me a valentines day present...

Bill for $509 for this quarters rates.

I do more mods to the house than the car these days.

mulch this

mow that

plant this

paint that

purchase this

instal that

clean this

pay that

f**kers at Bunnings know me by first name.. :D

that may be tru but at least wen u sell the house u got 60k back in the pocket....

**price may very on houses**

meh you can sleep in a car, but you can't drive a house.

The Rainbow Sheikh begs to differ he built a replica 1950's Dodge power wagon, everything on it 64 times LARGER than the original. Inside the body there is a house and it is capable of 30km/h.

holy thread revival!!

yeah i kinda got put off the RB30 path... not because it dosnt work, cause it clearly does, but mainly because of packaging and weight dist reasons.

running an RB25 neo motor that i picked up cheap.. stock internals and making very decent power reliably. pretty happy with it as it has all the power and torque i need and loves to rev. im now focusing on putting it all to the ground properly.
