Sorry im newb about this...i only knew wat a dump pipe was till i keep hearing front pipes.

i been looking at to get HPI Dual Front Pipe - Nissan Skyline ER34 (RB25) and a 3" metal cat along with my HKS cat back exhaust. If i was to buy this, would this achieve a full turbo back exhaust?

Or do i need to buy a dump pipe to get it from the turbo to the front pipe?

thanks alot much appreciated

BTW the website for the front pipe is at http://www.justjap.com/parts_ndumps.htm its the HPI Dual Front Pipe - Nissan Skyline ER34 (RB25)

ah i said 2 different theories...which one is correct?

Will getting a front pipe cat and cat back make a full exhaust?

OR

do i also need a dump pipe to fit onto the front pipe to make it a full exhaust? (If so, why is it just getting a single dump pipe is so called full exhaust if u need the front pipe too?)

So im assuming there is no such thing as just dump pipes? as all dump pipes are dump/front pipes??? cuz what are these single dump pipes that are up for sale?

such specific questions, and look how short the replies are.

should be explained that dump pipe is as you said before the pipe from the turbo to the front pipe which is going onto the cat which is onto the rear exhaust which is to the muffler. So front and dump are separate parts, but when called dump pipes thats usually the single piece dump/front ones.

The HPI Dual Front Pipe, is a Front Pipe only, so you will need a Dump Pipe as well to complete your Turbo back system.

The other alternative is to buy a 1 piece combined Front & Dump Pipe, such as this one:

Your next question is "do I need a split dump pipe" like this http://www.justjap.com/parts/new/exhaust/jjrrbdump.jpg , I did a bit of research on this when it came time for my system, it is proven that a split dump will improve turbo flow, but on the RB25 the flow is pretty good anyway, compared to a WRX etc. My split dump, on the standard turbo, was a restriction above 16psi as it had a 2 1/2" on the big one and not 3" where they merged. The 2871 had a frog mouth front/dump with it so it went in.

Just to be clear on the exhaust order it goes

Turbo- dumppipe- frontpipe- cat

OR aftermarket

Turbo- dump/frontpipe- cat

If i was to get a split front dump pipe, i'd get it in a single split front and dump pipe cuz apparently the flanges that connects the front and dump increases the weight anywayz. But in the end i do believe split front/dump are better but its hard to get a hold of to find one that are a single piece.
