Hi guys,

my names Tom and I am new to these forums and I currently own:

Nissan '93 180-sx Sr20det 5 speed manual

and I am enquiring into owning:

Nissan '98 R34 GT-T 5 speedmanual

what are the pros and cons do you guys think of owning a 34? are there any common problems to look out for if I do decide to buy one?

I am 21 and have only 1 speeding fine to my name, Am I Going to be charged a hefty insurance cost?

Are the neos reliable engines?

What is the Mileage like on these cars? (yes yes I know performance car though I am still wondering :) )

Just wondering is all it really worth selling my 180-sx and purchasing one, I like the look of them and they are more spacey than the 180-sx, and are reasonably affordable(I do have the money in my bank, which was supposed to be saved towards a mortgage though im still only 21 so meh

Thanks guys

:D;) Tom

sad as it is, id say save for a mortgage lol, mayb refinance ur loan in a year or 2 to get the 20k+ to get the 34, i bought my R34 last year... im now 21... so i was 20 when i bought it, and yes, i have a loan, its not the best situation to be in but when you really want something sometimes u do stupid shit... ie take out a loan, i dont regret it though because i get enjoyment out of it every day... anyhow

mileage is quite good, i couldnt give you an exact l/km as i havent calculated it myself, but this also depends on how heavy your foot is.

they are an awesome car, that said if you can hold off, investment wise, a home is a good choice (go the 34) lol

good luck wit ur decision

:) im scared now.. lol whenever says the word mortgage im like aww shite.....

I would personally put that towards a house mate. Try to get a property before the prices go even higher. If you're still happy with the 180, but just want something different, no point, but if you're sick of it or had a bad experience it or something like that, go the 34.

Put it towards the house is my opinion.

I've got a 34... Been booked about a thousand times (Not in the Skyline though) and YES insurance does hurt a little....

Other than that they are a fantastic car :spam:

A house is a damn good idea though!!! Gotta go into debt to make money

if you spend your deposit for your house, where are you going to get your deposit from in only a few years time?

if you had no car then i'd say a car is a must, but you have a nice 180sx, there's no point doing a small upgrade and blowing your deposit when you could have a house and a few years later get an even better car (ie V35, V36)
