congratulations and welcome! im sure everyone will agree, only use 98 octane, i use shell 99% of the time and caltex is next in line. my mechanic said that they are all pretty much the same but where possible use the same pump at the same servo all the time.

post up some pics for everyone to see

+1 BP ultimate

ive used the Vpower ethanol 100 stuff couple of times but dont really trust it

How is that stuff anyway? Does that extra 2 Octane make any difference?

I stick to BP as advised by my mechanic.

Also different fuel companies have different additives in their 98 Octane. SO personal choice / ppls experiance.

I go BP > Mobil > Caltex > Shell... IMO

^^ Friend told me he used it (100 Octane) he did not notice anything compaired to 98 Octane.

Plus Our cars would have had to be tuned for AUS fuel and I guess at the time 98 was pretty much the highest, when I bought my car.

100 only came out early last year from memory but was probley avaliable at selected Shell stations prier to all.

+ 1 to bp ultimate..

I think its best to stick to this fuel... as most skyline drivers use it.

Although whatever you choose to use, i think its best to stick with it and continue to use the same fuel, as said by someone above. Swapping between fuels all the time i personally dont think is good for your car...

Congrats on the pick up. Definatly only use bp ulitmate. Dont stinge out on fuel.

LOL! Funny you say that, I saw a guy filling up his Ferrari 360 Spyder at 7 Eleven.

I wouldn't even put that stuff in my Mitsubishi Lancer GLi.

lol, im not sure if this is true, as it was on aca or tt... but they said that all the fuel that is in these bowsers, comes from the same production plant.

so it wont make a difference what BRAND it is, just what ron rating it is.

lol, if anyone knows if the petrol thing is false, please correct me...i did hear is on aca/tt after all:S

Always used bp ultimate in my skylines but have been trying shell racing Vpower 100 fuel for the last couple of months.

Dont know if i like it. Cant feel any difference.

Going back to BP Ultimate though!!

    • Ah yeah I forget we aren't talking about an RB.
    • Fellow ADHDer to fellow ADHDer; Don't chase that paint perfection. Paint the bumpers, and put them on.  Leave the respray for another day. Plus, no one is going to see those old areas above. Any spots of surface rust, give them a clean up, prime, then hit with a white paint just to protect them from rusting. Again, no one can see it.   #Mine hasn't been on the road since 2011 cause ADHD... I've slowly learned not to keep f**king with shit if I don't need to...
    • That would be interested if it's the case as seems like it would make the job a lot messier but subaru sells OEM gaskets so seems it might of had it.
    • Fuel tank is out. Looks pretty bloody good under (ie above) the fuel tank.  Amazing how good the factory e-coat holds up in the hidden areas.  No where near as much body deadener to get rid of as the front but still not looking forward to it!  Shit of a job.  I'm thinking I might grab a needle scaler and give that a go before I attack it with the angle grinder and wire wheel which is how I did the front 2/3's of the car.  Feels good to be working on the car again but who knows how long it will last!  Hopefully I can get it further forward than where it was prior to this last block of work when I decided to go back 10 steps further down the rabbit hole from where i already was! The problem is, I'm realising how hard it will be to repair and paint the bumpers, which cannot be put back on the car, and have a good paint match. There are also areas where it would be VERY hard to hide the new paint where it transitions from old paint. Like this- There is only one way to do that perfectly and I really dont want to have to do what that means I would have to do... 🤦‍♂️
    • Pretty sure the factory assembly doesn't have any gasket at all, just RTV.
