Out here, Leon Daphne wants the car bad, but it's unclear whether we will get the Yank V8 or Jap/Euro V6.

When is a prototype not a prototype? When it's the very first "buyable" car!!!

Stop sweating me Sonic. If you want go and and make another GT-R thread that subtley contradicts everything that I've posted here, then go ahead.

I think a lot of you are going to be very very impressed with the new skyline, i have pics of it in a mag that were released. They have changed the look from the concept pics alot and have made the front a little more subtle which really looks unreal... don't want to spoil what it looks like but its awesome!!

P.s. I thought i'd also add to the V8 debate that they did actually have plans to use a de-tune version of the V8 twin turbo from the LM GT1 nissan Le Mans car in the GTR, until the new laws were passed regarding emissions in japan about 18 months ago... so i guess it really would have been a supercar :D

Sweating you? Hmm, rightio mate. You've swallowed a healthy dose of "GT-R Hype" and instead of wasting my time anymore, I think i'll let you sit back and get very disappointed instead when October rolls around

I didn't ask you to read this thread. So your wasting your own time, not me.

"GT-R Hype"??? What, you mean as opposed to your "GT-R Hype"???

All your info origionates from where? What, JAPAN? Hey, that just happens to be where I've been living for the last 3 1/2 years!

I'm conveying what comes out HERE, in Japan. Not from anywhere else, be it Europe or the US.

rezz mate dont let him get to you. id put money on the V8 being a no show...

im assuming you can read and understand japanese when i say

i read earlier in the year the subaru have developed a new system for their turbo WRC rally cars which gives them almost full boost from idle. and the source didn't know how it was done. they also said it made a sort of whistling sound. any ideas if it is like the nissan sys tem described here?

if i may add just one thing, 400r was the best skyline ever built, it had the lloks and the power and the most exclusive rights to ownership,

but i wouldmind the new motor in an older skyline, the new shape just doesn't do anything for me, the r33 has the fattest shape ever and i dont think anything will ever surpass that.

If nissan were to put a V8 into a GTr, they would have only 2 choices.

Either use an infinity Q45 4.5L V8 or use a de-tuned R390 LM engine 3.9V8-TT, which uses a magnesium block.

Keep in mind that Nissan are still trying to get out of the hole they got themselves into in the 90's, they cannot afford to devote one special engine for one car alone, but modify an existing engine. A V6TT is the best choice, in my opinion.

Notice how they like to use the their new V6 from the 350z. they use that in the G35 sedans and coupes at the moment, and also in 4wds and anything else they can cram it into.

That current pic floating around in one of the current issue aussie magazines, is a picture from the internet, and is a photochop, ive had that pic on my HDD from months. Remember, they WILL change the design of the car all the way up to the last minute.

The 350z was change in the final months before its release. Its relase date (in the US) was known before the final design. Though those final changes were small, there were still changes made.
