Why, after soooo much info and detailed explanation *with pics and diagrams* will you guys not believe that COSWORTH have a VQ32DETT on their testbench?

Thats, VQ32DETT... for all you who didn`t get it the first 4 times...:D:( :(

You said you read the whole thread, but are unsure of the engine specs? The engine specs are the one thing I was *sure* of when I put finger to keyboard.

And Jimbo, I ain`t discriminating, just that in the very first post... there are engine specs!:0

Tokyo 2003 Motorshow

Another Nissan legend will be shown here in 2007 – the GT-R. Development of the new GT-R is on schedule, and it is being engineered to claim its place among the world’s elite sports cars. More details will come closer to its launch.

REZZ????

tell us it isn't so :wave:

2007? heh, I`m not suprised really... I`ve heard 2005, 2006 and now 2007...

Actually, come to think of it, it`s gonna take Carlos "I want people to see my face when they think of Nissan" Gohsn about another 4 years to get the new GT-R where *HE* wants it... leave the Japs alone and we`d see the new car in `05.

By the way Jimbo, where did you get that quote?

its a quote from futurama about the dude in my avatar, thought it was a crack up when i saw it

No, no, no Jimbo!:cheers::D:D

Where was the *Carlos Gohsn* quote from!!!

no matter how ugly teh car turns up, the 480hp is going to make up for it.

I've noticed that nissan's new cars are all starting to look the same.. but with sublimal differences.

the 350z and g35 look very similar. And if you've seen the s16 artists rendition you'll see it too looks the same.

Why is nissan following this route, soon they'll just have one car!

I hope this isnt true, http://carsguide.news.com.au/news/story_pa...5E21822,00.html

the second half of the story, about the new Skyline and new GTR, not the Nissan "Monaro"

Thanks for the link Supafly :P

Theres two things about that linked article above that don't sit right:

Ghosn says: "... it was impractical to think we could get it all done by 2005 so that left 2007". Thats just him saying that the GT-R won't be to his liking before 2007... I swear he wants as much input in the new GT-R as possible and that just messes up the process. People who live in Perth will understand when I say that this situation with Ghosn and the GT-R is very much like ex-Premier Richard Court and the Bell Tower fiasco. He wasn't going to f*ck off until he left his mark....

eg: expect the new GT-R to be a lemon compared to the R32/33/34 if Ghosn interferes too much...

Also, I noticed the "journalist" Kevin Hepworth didn't even have the (brain)power to click his damn mouse to find out that it ain't an "R"35 Skyline! Pffft. :(

Mmmm, I`ve been inquiring about this, and it seems that that quoted output figure is very close to the JGTC engine output... which is why I typed (in the first post of this thread) "is the JGTC car using motor-assisted spool-up turbos and direct injection?".

No one has been able to confirm, but my contact says the power will be *less than* 480hp. I know the article said power would be "over" 480, but I guess that may have been to catch a few more sales...?

Whatever the case, the new GT-R will topple Porche... thats their goal.

    • Just wanted to pop in an update on my setup. The CD swap has been great, I love the mazworks housing for the overall simplicity. I ended up sealing my trans tunnel with a thin sheet of aluminum reused some of the holes on the trans tunnel, and laid some window sealing EPS foam around the edges. Works great, really quieted things down and sealed up the car.  As for the power comment. Right now I am also running about 650whp. with the way the bell housing is attached to the face of the transmission I have zero doubts it would be fine, mainly because the input shaft and main shaft bearings are seated into the bell housing adapter. This means the load is NOT on the bolts to maintain the power, rather into he casing of the bell housing; Yes the bolts are doing some work there, but with both shafts locked in zero worries.  End of the day, the Mazworks solution is the easiest and safest. no need to take your trans to a shop to get milled perfectly, it fits with minimal clearancing, and you can use all your existing clutch and flywheel.  Driving wise the CD has been great compared to the big box, I'll probably swap my final drive at some point. The serial 9 shifter is gooooood, my only qualm is how tight it is, it takes a fair bit to get use to, 5th and 6th are a bit eh/hard to find at times, but maybe I need re-adjusting, and I think my clutch master is very tired and needs a rebuild.
    • If you are keen, have a look at my build thread. Car is for sale for the right money or straight swap for a F80 M3 LCI.
    • Welcome mate.  No point in over thinking it, buying any one of those cars you mentioned is not a smart or logical choice with the availability of many "better" (re price to performance) cars available to you.  The heart wants what the heart wants, buy whatever it leads you too.
    • Hey everyone! Im so grateful to be apart of this community and ill do my best to be apart of this. Firstly, i'm not disclosing my real name due to in real life circumstances surrounding my privacy and public image (sorry lol) Secondly, The only thing personal I am willing to share is that I'm from Sydney and a descendant of one of Sydneys largest mortgage firms. I got gifted my first ever car, a 2022 Porsche Cayenne and I love it to death. Ive been driving it for about 5 or 6 months now and honestly Im so grateful for my parents for gifting me this vehicle. However recently I've been working my ass off to afford my second car (which I need help deciding soooooo community help me out please?). Once decided, im planning to try modify it myself. Recent I've been thinking about getting a Skyline, particularly a 25GT or GT-V, yes I know overrated as hell, but I'm also considering a Chaser which I recently came to love. However my dream is to one day own a 180SX (So hard to find clean versions and im not really into importing).  Lastly before I send this off, I want to apologize if I sound tacky or pretentious. I try not to and want to genuinely learn from everyone and anyone. (Im no expert in this area) Thanks for reading!
