that was a really nasty crash. Imagine how he felt sitting there waiting for someone to hit him, especially considering how similar it was including location to the Mark Porter crash in 2006.

And like I asked that time....how can a car hit a stationary car after the yellow flags have been waving for at least 10-15 seconds. Drivers can't stuff around with yellow flags/safety generally...yellow does not mean "speed up so you catch the safety car"

Re Aaron...sure i like the bloke, but why is he still scraping together cash to run around at the back of the konica field? its not like he is about to get a good result and a big paid for break into the main game.

Yep I totally agree big boy.

I'm so bloody happy Paul is okay,,,I like the guy,,,and as far as I'm concerned Pither is a dickhead!!!. He actually consedes he's seen the yellow flag. 2 cars pass Paul before he hits him. What the hell was he thinking and what the hell was he doing on that line?. But as per usual most V8 drivers pay no attention to flags. I'd like to see him lose his inter licence actually.

Waving a flag is so old school at Bathurst,,,V8's need a big warning light to come on, on the dash as well as big arse lights around the track,,,that wasn't a yellow that needed a bloody big red.

I had an issue at Wakefield with this turd in the Radical. He spun his F3 car in front of me at the right-hander after the paperclip and didn't bother putting his foot on the brake and lucky I missed him. We had

words after,,,no sorry no nothing. I ripped into him and suggested next time either use the middle pedal or reverse or we won't just talk next time. I do remember him mumbling something under his breath as I walked off and in my usual well-mannered style I turned around and told him to suck my johnson you sub-human.

Frosty is fast becoming the qual king,,,now tomorrow I'd like him to win the shoot out,,,beat Murph's record and come sunday win the race. Hey I don't ask for much.

Neil.

spot on. maybe someone loosing a license instead of a slap on the wrist fine is what needs to happen.

spinning cars are simple. when they are still moving, aim for them and they will be gone by the time you get there. if they are stationary you have to go around them (probably). As you said it is amazing how often drivers forget to put their foot on the brake when they stall mid track, and they just roll back into the line you have picked and comitted to.

Although in this case I can't help noticing that pither just drove into the car with all 4 wheels locked up :P

Actually I'd also like to see Frosty win, but only because the lead driver in that car is Jimmy's son. And we all know I love Jimmy.

Valid point :P

haha

Hows that bitburger?

Yeah agree on the yellow flags...

Something needs to be done as yeah, most from what Ive seen they use it as a catch up then slow down as they have caught up to rest of group.

Druncan - LOL - mini kegs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice!! haha

Boy's forget the yellow,,,that's a RED,,,someone has screwed up or the system is totally wrong. Do we need another death before it's fixed.

Cams have a real problem,,,they need to take control and tell this class of racing that cancellation of driver licences will happen if drivers don't obey the rules.

V8 supercars have rules un-to themselves,,,they use numbers which are not cams approved,,cams stickers in the wrong place,,,some without the sticker all together,,,we as normal drivers have to stick with the rules,,,why not there class.

Win it Frosty.

Neil.

i agree, when a car is in the middle of the circuit, and lets not forget that this was a practice session, the red flags should be out. My mate is a police officer working the mountain this weekend. he rang me and said the accident happened infront of him. he and his partner jumped on the track to check on the driver, who was startled but gave them the thumbs up. he said that the other driver made every attempt to miss him, said he could see his eyes as he came over the crest to see the car sitting in the middle of the track. he reckons he hit him at about 150+ in the door.....ouch.

Murph for the win.

Winterbottom for the win.

Fixed.

Well looks like we have lost another car,,,the Rat has slamed the wall at mcpillamy and reports say the cars as bad as Pauls. A stuck throttle being the cause.

Poor little prick kelly may not get a drive this year. Mummy can you buy me a new one today....

Jason Richards was flying in practice this morning,,,I think he got into the 6's.

Go Frosty

Bad luck for the Rat although I have to say that I think its time for the Rat to make like Brad Jones and just give up - he costs teams more than he is worth.

Dumb question but when all these 'throttle stuck open' issues that happen over the years, why do the drivers insist on trying to stop the car by locking the brakes when they could instead just throw the clutch in and let it rev off its nut?

so who is missing out in car 16. looks like Rick's daddy did buy him a new car for the day.

Roy, he is a kiwi. Its only fair that he misses out on opportunities.

BTW murph could be a surprise if Jason's pace is a sign of things to come. but I find it hard to respect a guy who has to cry in a port-a-loo for 5 min mid race.

I'm still cheering for Jimmy's kid and frosty bum.

I hope everyone has got their beers and bbqs ready

ben, nfi myself. but it does happen a lot so it must be one of those things that is much more obvious from the couch than it is from the drivers seat in the heat of the moment.

reminds me of Mark saying he hit the kill switch on the motor before the second roll. good presence of mind.

oh FFS no wonder they don't take it seriously....

from the cams web site:

Matters arising from Practice Friday:

Following an investigation and an admission by Chris Pither Car #021 that he had driven in a careless manner, contact with Car #50 Paul Weel, and he failed to slow for a waved yellow flag, the Stewards imposed a Fine of $6,000 with $3,000 suspended until 31/12/08. In addition he was excluded from Practice Session 2.

    • Hey all, I did a voltage test with the car (video attached) not running for 3 days. And here is some interesting stuff: - Battery voltage is 12v (I had the key in the ON position) - Drops to 9.76v while cranking then quickly goes up to 14.5v - You will notice there was a sorta slow start but not as slow as it usually is. - Idle surprisingly was better at just over 1,000rpm instead of 1,100 rpm. - I turned on the A/C, radio and headlights in the video and the voltage remains the same - I haven't cleaned the grounding wires on the chassis yet, that's next. - Battery drops to 12.6v when I turn off the car and wait a bit Seems like I might have a parasitic draw? I do have an immobiliser system which does drain the battery more of course but was wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at fixing? Does the ground wires on the chassis have anything to do with the low 12v?        SAU.avi
    • My lord that is some low oil pressure as minimum in the manual! I guess the big part will be seeing how it changes as the engine gets more spirited use.
    • Turbotapin   so I am about to be mounting mine up been waiting for the body to get finish at paint. I had a question. I was told our Speedo sensor it originally in the transmission but the cd009 is in the diff on the z. How did you get around this?
    • I definitely do recommend having a fab/grinding/dirty shed or area to keep all that grinding dust out of your main shed.  But you're right, it doesn't matter how much room you have you still end up filling it! I might even do a short video which will make it easier to fully take in the horrors of what I've created...
