Yep,,,I'm in the right forum mate.

Nah sorry mate but leaning on other drivers at a place like that is not on. The 888 cars did way to much leaning for my liking. Actually leaning is not quite right,,,hows about pushing as in using the other car as a burm.

I've just finished looking at both races again and It's almost like Roland has told both drivers to get really aggresive of which both did. I have never seem CL drive so madly.

My thinking is Roland has told them Thomas is new and will let stuff go and he did.

Neil.

Well everybody does it, nobody's a saint. My opinion on Craigs driving, which I don't disagree at points was a tad excessive... Team mate!

Last year he had an older car and maybe he could use that as an excuse for not being able to show up Jamie who is really the B driver at 888 Racing. First raceof the season Jamie sets pole, lap record, race wins etc. I think maybe there was a little bit of pride on the line for him cause he had the same car package this time yet he was still off the pace slightly.

I thought maybe 888 had been playing gran turismo in the off season. Kel pulls the exact same move on me that lowndes was using into turn 9.

brake too late, take out the car outside you and beat them back out of the corner because they are so far off the line.

ST....you've done door to door racing - are you saying you've never seen a punch up in the pits, or at least a real good spray? tempers often run high afterwards.

Actually in our racing even though there's been some beaut bingles there's never been a fist thrown that Im aware of. A few words exchanged here and there but thats about all (most were all directed at the same driver over different incidents lol). Motor Racing is a sport, with no connection to boxing. Professional conduct and maturity is a requirement not an option in my opinion and wandering over to punch someone over a bit of panel damage is not on.

I've been following skaife since the Amaroo Park days many moons ago (remember when he was in the Sega car when Winfield went down). I also think Tander is a great driver with a long career ahead of him and have met him at trackdays a couple of times, it's awesome to finally have them in the best Holden team in the field.

Nope,

Garth left Garry Rodgers :P so he isn't in the best holden team

Well two names who I would like to see in V8's in the not too distant future - both sons of former drivers:

Hansford & Miedecke.

I was a big fan of Greg & Andrew (Phark, am I showing my age?) so I would very much like to see Rhys & George prosper in the utes & get on into the main game.

For those who don't or can't remember the Miedecke Sierra (Engineered by a couple of bloke called Ross & Jimmy Stone) scared the crap out of the import Sierras in 1987 at Bathurst. Besides, how can you not like someone who's major sponsor was Oxocube?

As for Greg Hansford his loss was a huge one to the motorsport community. He was a thorough gentleman & achieved great success both racing for Kawasaki & subsequently for Moffat & then Perkins. His wins at Sandown & Bathurst were a testament to his skill. His willingness to put up with those two bosses a tribute to his character. The great sadness was his loss after finally signing a good deal, for Ross Palmer in the super tourers. That Rhys has enough mettle to go motor racing points to him being a solid character.

it wouldn't be in the Biante Historic Masters, the car is to new to run.

are there any other series that would allow a Group A car to run?

Sorry I shouldn't have said series. Not the Biante one anyway. I was thinking the historic outings that you occassionally see the R31's & the like at.

Rumour has it the car was going to re-appear in the historic touring cars. Anyone?

Pretty sure the car you are talking about is owned by the same guy who just bought back the R32 from OS. Not sure about it coming out though.

Can tell you that the Listerine Sierra that appeared at the 2007 AMC at EC is under new ownership and is currently getting a new motor built buy Neil Lowe......should be quick.....might have to wind up the boost on the R31...lol!

some shocking reports on what happened to Ashley Cooper.

Looks like the HANS device may have been a major part of the injuries as well as the seat breaking from the rails (which is opposite to the CAMS report).

With the V8's looking at going to a silhouette formula in the next few years, hopefully they start letting some more brands in. Something like the audi Sports sedan would be great as that thing was flying at sandown on the weekend 1.08 set the new race lap record.

Be warner Beer influenced....sorry!

sequential???

I feel this series will implode soon..sequential?????....what the!!!. Yeh sequential is easier but why bother?....what about the low budget teams? Not saying that we should go down the road of Nascar with old crap tech but FFS! Is traction control next? What is the driver left to do?....point and pray?.....We are looking at another F1 series.....where are the other manufactures?.....where is the development into road going cars(the grass roots to Motor sport)? V8 Supercar's will end up like watching Cricket(no offence to cricket people) if they don't watch out.

Back to the V8's..I'll be backing Whincup again...I think he raced well...not as clean as most people would like, but it was a street circuit!....I think Craig's mistake's were in desperation after a bad start/setup...being on a street circuit thing's are alway's going to get messy....easy to be criticle but I am sure a couple of you out there(me included) have over committed to a move on another car....pretty easy to do....even if you are paid mega dollars like Craig.

any one know the new rules for this year?

coz i notice they use a sequential gearbox now instead of the normal H pattern.

they are using the same boxes as last year, but now some teams run a shift adapter thingamy to convert the H pattern to sequential style. good idea. the only real downside is you need to downshift through every gear. on the upside no chance of mishifts any more. well not through human error anyway.
