Ok now i know ull say search but alot of things goes over my head.

Im about to spend a bit of cash on my GTR and im just after a little advice on wheather im doing the right thing or not and getting the best bang for my buck.

I have a GTR R33

Mods

Trust intercooler

3 1/2 Kakimoto 06&R cat back system

Just Jap front pipe

N1 Steel Turbos (believed)

Blitz PODS

Oil Catch Can

Now im thinking (Ive read and have thought these sounded the best for price) of getting these

Power FC and Controller $ 796

Greddy PRofec B Spec II $ 336

HKS Cam Gears $ 324

Total $1456

Plus tune of course.

Would that all go well together??? Any thing you would change etc....

Advice would be great!

HKS recalled their soft c.gears yeeears ago. (5+) The outer gear ring is made from Duralium now. Besides their gaudy too ne- way :D The OS G gears were cheap, but with the dollar, all the Trust / Tomie ones, seem to be around the same'ish price now. I would think c.gear choice is fairly a muchness.

How many Km's has it done? Before boosting, pulling fuel out, and ignition in, you should preform basic maintenance as above.

N1 Steel Turbos (believed)

... and i wouldn't do shite, till you confirm you have steel wheels.

If you have steel wheel turbos even better and a good idea to get some cams along the way.

Jump onto a set of Tomei type A cams. 260 intake and 256 exhaust. Big gains to be had.

Even on stock GTR turbo's, they smack the stock cams even with adjustments, as I have proven on my old GTR with the Tomei 260's.

The budget doesnt streatch to cams... yet....

Should all go well together?

Go out with a torch and try view the serial numbers located between the turbos housings (on the rusty looking center core) jot down anything you can see.

normal Power fc, and boost controller are always going to be a good start.

i think you'd get that figure your after with just them if the turbos are what you believe them to be.

    • Good point, I think you can get black ceramic coating as well, so that could be two birds with one stone
    • If I was you I would fix them up, as far as I know the 400R bumper is unobtainable now, the rear bumper and side skirts cost a fortune. The look of the car with that body kit on is awesome! Subtle but aggressive looking, how long have you owned her and done much in the way of modifications?
    • More so heat management so you don't melt stuff around the turbo, especially if you decide to hit the track.
    • What's the difference in wrapping it in this stuff in relation to overheating the 304L stainless dump material and having it cracking at the welds from overheating the material? It would well on my exhaust manifold as it is some fancy pants cast material, but, I've used similar stuff before and it is problematic to get it looking neat as you need to fix it with "all" of the SS ties The stick on stuff is just for the firewall and OEM heat sheild I believe that, as I am only going to be running low boost and not pushing the turbo too hard (hence asking about the differences between a 0.64 and 0.82) extreme heat in the dump shouldn't really be a issue I am happy to talk metallurgy about a 304L material and what makes it crack
    • Nice. Straight and dent free is what you want. The rest is easier to clean up.
