CleanGTS-t
didn't get a chance to show my mate that picture but he said @ least nails and or screws should of been put in alsoand said dust on the joist before applying glue could cause something like that The sheets were screwed in place but due to the lack of adhesive down she came. The glue that they applied stuck quite well to the timbers but not so good to the gyp-rock. Maybe like you said "dust on the joists" but more so, dust on the sheets of gyp-rock. But I'll be contacting them again on Monday. See how I go. Leeman - LOL freaked me out man!! can i have your rims. xD Sorry bud. Luciano
F&^%! Sorry to hear/see that mate, thats quite a nasty thing to happen to a reasonably new house. That is one fine 33 you have there too! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/207271-ouch/page/2/#findComment-3669710 Share on other sites
Ryanrb25
Believe it or not the screw are just there to hold the sheet up while the adhesive is setting. Screws by themselves through gyprock do f**k all....gyprock is quite heavy, paper outer layers and gypson inside isn't really strong. If you want to be guaranteed it wont happen again then get it redone with Fibre Cement sheets or blueboard, alot stronger indeed.
