Boys and girls! (Yes I searched for this before posting)

I want to change the speedo/tacho to white-face dials a bit later down the track but because the odometer is digital will it carry over the original km's?

I've been eyeing off the Dolphin 300km/h speedo cluster for a while now.

Next question:

Will it fit into a 97 S1 RS Four V?

PS odometer is stored in the cluster, so if you change it, you wont have an accurate reading. I dont think those will run in an S1, being that they are for an S@ Autech. Different plug type. Have a look in the link (just did a search for 'instrument cluster' and there you go) and you will see the couple of different plug types.

I was going to buy a similar cluster for a S2 5 speed. then just went f*ck it ill just buy a bloody autech.

When you buy a cluster you get it's klm. which most people are fine with because they are lower than the standard one.

be careful of the inserts, if they're the one that fit over the standard guages: I bought a set, and got 'ghosting', as at night, the lit parts of the original guages shine through the inserts, and they don't both line up perfectly. End result - the guages look out of focus at night.

In my case, I used Cyber stork inserts.

I too used CyberStorks and did not like them.

The needle slightly caught as well on them..

Prttey sure you could use the white face dials from a series 2. Would need to pull apart the series 1 & 2 cluster and swap the faces over. May also need to get this gone professionally as it is really easier the stuff it up. I distroyed 2 sets of R33 clusters trying to remove the needles and getting them to work right again.
