Hi all.

I got a R32 GTR with stockies, 8 inch 35/38mm offset (cant remember). I picked up a set of enkies from work, 17X9 with a 22 mm offset. Will these screw up my handling if I fit them?

I've talked to some so called experts about it and the replies have been very unprofessional. One place who specialises in big rims replied with "All offset is good mate". Err no its not, it messes up wheel alignment angles real bad, scrub radius and track go out the window when messing with offset.

Any knowledgable help if appreciated.

I keep forgetting, but I thought GTR's wheels were +30 offset? We'll just say that they're +38 offset on a 8" rim for now, moving to 9" +22mm offset wheels will make the wheels stick out an extra ~21mm from where it is now. An increase in track so I guess that's a good thing (I've got no idea on track work so please forgive me).

So the new wheels will be sticking out an extra ~21mm from what they are currently. You could need some guard rolling done.

Where/how do you measure offset?

Because I have heard abour 4 or 5 offsets on GTR R32 wheels.. and this is on quite official papers..

All rims should have their offsets and widths either printed or on a sticker on the wheel somewhere. Usually on the inside, but I've seen a few wheels which had the offsets printed on the lip.

You can always rely on Yahoo auctions to tell you the offsets of standard wheels, and give you a good idea of what a particular type of second-hand aftermarket Jap wheel may be too. http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/sea...=0jp&acc=jp. For the record R32 GTR is 16x8 +30.
