ok guys so just had an Autronic SM4 fitted in my 32 GTR and have found 4wd light is on and always in RWD mode, (dont get me wrong this is fun but not why i wanted a GTR)

so i have checked the attessa computer and i am getting 21 flashes which if im correct is the throttle sensor or circuit.

Can anyone tell me if this is a mechanical fix problem or is it somthing in the autronic??

thanks you Lee

I had the same drama when I fitted a Wolf to my GTS4. The (factory) ECU passes a throttle signal through to the ATTESSA computer.

Advanced Engine Management (makers of Wolf) have a "black box" solution. Maybe Autronic has something similar.

hey guys :)

ets: 4wd control unit right?

ems: engine management/control system?

ok ok im unsure about all the uhm, technical terms but hope you get it anyways... :P

Have installed a new ems in a friends r32gtr. Engine runs fine but we havent worked out all details in the atessa vs ems. Vill splice the tps signal(?) back to the ets, but what about the rpm signals that schematics show goes from ems to ets? Are they relevant for getting 4wd working or just tells ets that engine is running and 4wd can be engaged. Problem with this is dont know what sort of signal the ets wants when recognizing engine rpm, or maybe a positive 5v feed is enough to just say, hey engine running... with a rpm based signal it gets more tricky since we dont know what frequency it likes to listen to...

well just some of my projects right now trying to get this r32 sliding in the snow here with all 4 wheels spinning like crazy...

later on my r33 gtr will get the same treatment, would that be about the same as this? (4wd stuff vs new ems)

so i will try to get back with some info on this later...

ok so this works fine. just plug in tps signal to ets and its back in 4wd! :D

(might need a grounding wire also shown in eccs section in manual)

might need a slight recalibration on tps to get it just right... (adjust tps unit postition on throttle bracket)

dont know if i missed something, but rpm signal to ets seems to have no effect on anything important... guess ill just skip it for now.

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.
