well if you have 19s on a 33 it can be defectable as 18s are the biggest you can go. im pretty sure different size rolling diameter is illegal too. whatever state you in, check the on the state roads website for the rules and regs.

my moneys on defect. but hey... every mods pretty much a defect nowadays. :)

There shouldn't be a big difference in rolling diameter if you're using the correct tyres.

I'd say that they're illegal. I remember someone saying something about if you've got 225mm tyres all round, you can't go larger in the rear and not the fronts. They must stay the same width (all four 235, 205, etc), but if they came with 255's in the rear and 235's in the front, then you can go what ever you like in the rear and front (doesn't matter if they're not the same). I would say that it's the same for rim diameter. If your car came with 16's in the rear and 15's in the front then it would be legal. I'm not saying that this is the law, it could be complete bullshit (I think it is), just thinking out loud.

you'd be dumb to put it on an AWD

there was a topic bout a ferrari with 20" front and 22" back a while ago

unless you got adjustable suspension your car'll look like it just got anal probed

not sure if it helps, but a chrysler crossfire has bigger rear wheels from factory,

I think 18" front and 19" rear

I think the rule in NSW is that you can't go 1" bigger than factory and something to do with the width of the rim

Why not just go 18's all round? or 19's all round. Would probably be cheaper aswell.

Most ppl only do the 'smaller at the back, bigger at the front' So they can lower the car heaps and still be able to turn the front wheels yet fill out the guards.

But ive yet to see anyone do it with 18's as its too small to fill out the guards to the extent of rubbing.

i was just pondering the idea, i saw a few pics of a s15 with 18's on the front and 19's on the back and it looked really good. also theres some mags i like, except the 18" one only come in 8" width, but the 19"'s come in 8" and 9.5". so i was thinking maybe 18" by 8" on the front and 19" by 9.5" on the rear. just checking out all my options before i buy :D

Most people get smaller wheels out back because of cheaper tyre costs and larger wheels at front to clear their massive brakes. Usually see 17's out back and 18's up front.

If you get the right profile tyres, nothing/not much should happen to the speedo. Having 19's at the back and 18's up the front is no different to having 19's all round or 18's all round if you've got the right profile tyres.

There was an MR2 with 19's on the rear and 18's on the front. I think it was in one of the Video Option dvd's... Looked pretty good.

I doubt it's a legal requirement to have all wheels the same including the spare. Think of all the cars with space savers.... including Skylines...

In saying that. check first.

I reckon you could easily get away with it, as only 1 inch difference would be hard to spot by the authorities. My R33 has been running around on 19x10's and 20's for around 2 years, and yet to have a problem with the coppers..but i guess as with most things these days its the risk you take..

If you want to go 19's in the rear and 18's up front, just do it. Chances are you'll probably get dicked for having tyres that are too wide or you increased your track by more than the legal limit anyway.

    • brake clearance depends on spoke design GT-R size I'd go 9.5 +15 or +12, and if you've rolled your guards, 10" +20. People run 10.5 but I reckon that's too wide.
    • I was using Realdash App on my entertainment unit in the sil80. Can connect over USB/bluetooth, can set up warnings and is discreet and doesn't stand out bonus was using android auto so had maps and music still going. Put the dollars saved from a screen into decent ecu, sensors and other upgrades.
    • Here’s something I was wondering. From the colour of the fuel that came out of the old filter and how hard it was to take it out, I would assume that was clogged AF! Do you think the car was running lean during those times? And would it now run better now that the flow is better? Or would it run rich for a while and then start adjusting?  I’m not really sure if the R34 ECU adjusts to changes like this. I mean it’s an ECU from 2000, not AI 😂 But also, interested to know if anything like that is there.
    • Have made a start on the dump pipe. Ordered a few 3.5 inch bends and pie cuts. To make fit up and tacking a bit easier cut some slots in an old t bolt clamp. It's been a tight fit but managedto get it down under the car but still sits about 5-6mm below the chassis rail. Have started to weld it out but not had much time. Also got new orings and gasket so intake and injectors are back in with all the water bypass done. Another box arrived with bits for making a  swirl pot off the upper coolant neck. PWR are still waiting to make my intercooler and radiator but should be ready in 2 weeks. Slowly making a plan for a few suspension arm upgrades for when all engine/driveline is done. Got a busy period for work  ext few weeks so not much will happen on the car.
    • I've had this happen with some cheaper kits and found the efihardware ones don't do this. I would go be pwm the pump no way need it at 100% all the time.
