Rb20 Is Out

Hey Guys,

Just about to drop an RB20 with a 25 turbo into my cefiro.

I have heard heaps of little things here and then, what should i do whilst it is out?

I know i should change the gaskets...

Also it has only been serviced 4000k's ago

Also what oil should i put in?

Should i replace hoses?

replace all the coolant hoses, esp the ones running behind the head and under the manifold, do the intake and exhaust gaskets, and welsh plugs too if your feeling up to it.

depending on the health of the motor, thers a lot more stuff you could do, but those are the three things that would pay to do with motor out as its so much easier out the car rather then in

Yeah that is what i figured Simon!

I can take my time too, which is a benifit. What about taping coilpacks? Little things like that.

The motor has had a real easy life, being owned by a worker of nissan and serviced regularly.

Prevention is better than cure right?

Put the RB20 motor in front of the door so that it doesn't close.

buy RB26

put in car.

Check all your wiring for corrosion, perhaps tidy up the loom. Nothing like some bad connections ruining your day.
