G'day!

I have a strange problem, have a look at the vid n ull c.

Once I take my foot of the accelerator for example when I change gears, if there is maybe a period of 2 3 sec while i am doing it, this is what it dose (chek the link on youtube). Its only doing it while i am driving, its not when i am reving it in neutral. If i keep changing gears quick or normal it never custs off.

If you wondering how did i figure out that its doing it, its simple, i was doing a burnout n after i finished in 2nd took the foot of the accelerator n put it in neutral it stoled ... then i tried what will hapen if i do it while i am driving ... and it did the same thing ..

in the example u can see in the vid, it drops down to 0 revs and it wakes up, but sometimes its sh.ts itself.

Any ideas anyone, y is it doing it ...???

i heard the bov noise, but with a pod filter you will get that noise from the stock bov. my stock bov was annoyingly loud with a pod, and worse when i put an alloy CAI box on.

first thing i'd be looking (whether you have atmo bov or not) is new spark plugs. my car did this when the old plugs were on their way out. it didn't pop or miss while on boost, but would stall when you lifted off. just get some NGK copper plugs BCPR6ES. they are about $4 each.

hhhhhhhhhhmmm quiet interesting, a lot of peaple are relating this issue to BOV, yes i do have one, but funny thing is that it was doing the SAME thing with the stock one. I think i will try first with a spark plugs change n c if thats gonna make it any better.

Here is the photo fo the BOV i have, n speaking of it cops let me go 2 times with it, n i reckon it would be good if i get rid of it ...$200 with the adapter ... anyone ...

And also one more thing, i got a R33 Engine_Manual.pdf if anyone needs it FOC i am happy to send it its only 23 MB, that thing is GOOOOOOLD

Problem fixed ...

I have changed spark plugs and cleaned rhe Throttle chamber, and bellive it or not it seems all OK, its not doing it. I had platinum spark plugs before, it could be that car didnt like them, or it could be that they were too old i gues i will never figure out ... $5 NKG stocks fixed it ...

    • Yeah, you are right. It seems easier and more reasonable to boost the engine. And as you said the blocks are very similar but the cylinder bores are different.
    • Sound logic, but in actuality way more illegal than just having the wrong pipe. Normally, doing something like that would be forgery. Meaning you may have certain documentation for vehicle parts, but the actual parts are different ones and you just assign them the numbers and badging from the documents. But nevermind that. Nonetheless, I AM curious if this pipe was ever made by any official manufacturer this way, because I honestly am not familiar with this pipe layout and shape. As I will be putting on the HKS Silent Hi Power once my exhaust gaskets arrive, as long as it sounds right I will just roll with this front pipe. I can always order the actual Mines part if I run into legal issues. It would be an unnecessary expense as there is lots of other problems I have on this car as of now.
    • So, weld a plate with the Mines logo laser cut into it, onto it. Instant Mines pipes, whether they were or weren't originally.
    • I don't know if the blocks are "the same". They will be very very similar. Obviously, either the bore or the stroke is going to be bigger on the 20. If the bore is bigger, then the 18 head is unlikely to fit properly. If the bore is the same, then you can almost certainly fit the CA18 head, but there migth be a few fun things you have to do to make water galleries (or other things) line up properly. Or... it could just be real easy. Is it worth the effort? Almost certainly not. You can make nearly as much power on a 2 valv ehead as you can on a 4 valve. There's not any "magic" in a 4 valve head.
    • Yes, me too!!!!  I need to find a something that has all the abbreviations for what these cars have LOL
