hahaha i agree, funny yet some what distrubing. What did the cop do when he saw it? Stakeouts are fun.

He held his head in his hands and almost cryed... Thats what made is disturbing...

He didnt approach the vechicle, he just called for backup and waited at McDonalds while they smashed his car...

those new vans are not as distinctive as the old dirty cruisers are, only seen one so far on Appleby rd.

Really Appleby rd, thats low I love that road :P

There is a black R34 that lives on that road, down towards the lights on Stafford road...

yeah i have seen that one on me way to uni, also a nice r33 across the road from the guy that must import cars on that hill just after Maryland st, he has two Supra's parked out the front at the moment.

the van was parked at the top of a hill, just before a round-a-bout opposite the power substation, sorry don't no the street name.

Oh so the speed camera was just before that little side access road after Maryland street... Checky bugger...

As for the house with the supras, I know them quite well...

hey just some exciting news a nice man in a white van so kindly took a photo of my skyline as i was driving past and ime shure hell send me a invoice for his troubles

but i seem to be seeing more and more of these around is there a influx of speed trap

even more so 1 day after my kind photo experence was driving home sitting in the traffic doing like 10 k over and i see mr hiway patrol mand with his hand held laser up ahead

does anyone know if the hand held guns take phitis

as i saw a little red light if so ime gooornn 2 tickes in 2 days it sucks to be me i juess any info on peoples experence with hand held speed guns would be cool

Hot damn! Ouch!

Anyway, no, the hand held radars only give speed. The cops have to chase you down and write you out a ticket. Coming back from gympie the other day I was trying to catch jarrad who had a lead on me, and I poped past a cop in a red highway patrol car, I *may* have been over the limit, im *not sure*. It wouldnt of been much tho, 10 km's max. Even if I was, he didnt seem to think it worth the bother. He was using one of the hand held guns.

I got poped a few months back by an undercover with a mobile radar, ever since then I havent had the balls to speed like I usually do. I cop all sorts of road rage for being in a GTR that does the speed limit, but I dont have the points to withstand anything else.

Just a quick note, I've seen a couple of new speed camera vans. The ones I saw were black. Make of that what you will...

+1 - ive seen white and black vans and the old dirty patrols as well.

They also look kinda silly and funny in there bright neon clown costumes pointing there "laser guns" down the road with super serious expressions on there face, similiar to what youd expect from a firing squad.

I wounder if they have ever stopped to look at themselfs?

As to why I own a gtr, its cause it looks fully shick when I go to pickup the milk bread and eggs, along with whatever else I print on the side of my car. Why else would I want a twin turbo 4wd 260 kw sports car to drive around on the streets?

Reading this thread has really made me chuckle... we have it so easy up here in QLD as far as speed cameras go,

personally laughed my ass off when I saw my first speed camera, a giant patrol with a snorkle and a police sign down the side!? C'mon... you can see them a mile off and always have time to slow down ( if you are going above the limit. )

You should try owning a fast car in SA. Down there speed cameras are everywhere, not only fitted to all red-light cameras now but mostly in unmarked standard commodores and magna's simply parked on the side of the road, they look just like any other personally owned ride and they are quite litterally everywhere.

However this is not the worst of it, just before I left SA ( a little over a year ago now ), they started setting up small transportable speed cameras mounted on tri-pods which were hidden in bushes along the side of roads, with usually an unmarked monitoring vehicle parked down a driveway or a side road keeping an eye on it, not only this but they also introduced 'bin cameras' which were in wheelie bins sitting on the footpaths, this idea didn't last too long on account of a few being burnt down and a couple being smashed to bits by very pissed off motorists.

As far as the guys with the guns go, doesn't matter where you are in Australia, you will always find these guys, and more often than not, they will be sitting just over a crest, around a corner or just out of sight on a long stretch of road, can't be avoided.

Anywayz, just my 2c, we have it easy up here. ;)

yeah it IS illegal to setup cameras on a hill.. or should i say it's stated that they shouldnt be setup on a hill.. but when has this ever stopped them from doing something they've been told not to do.. gotta get that revenue.. gov'ment wont do sh!t about it cause they getting the money.. I agreed catch the speeders.. but not sneaky tactics to go to any lengths to do it.. some of the things they do are dangerous.. also they dont always get accurate readings..

well no point arguing or disputing.. they have the final say and us lowly ppl get thrown to the dogs..

Dirty, dirty tricks. We also have a beautiful red mazda 6 undercover car!

He will launch it at the lights until he hits 60! then nabs ya! saw him get an SS last week.

with that statement, im pretty sure that under the new hooning laws,

if there is a designated start/finsih line intended for a "race" and there are 2 or more participants, then this is classed as a street race. i think that is wrong because the biggest double standards are opperating there, and also, with that, couldnt that been seen as some sort of intrappment?
