i was just wondering if you guys could give me any hints/tips for installing a new headunit and set of speakers and amp into my first car ( datsun sunny)

im not sure as to put in front or rear speakers? what would you suggest ifd this is all my budget alows. i want to know if i should use the amp to power the two speakers or not get amp and get another set of speakers?

i was thinking of getting following items.

headunit:$399 alpine CDE-7871E 4x45watts, 1 preout max tune tuner, bass treble control, sub level controller, bass engine and detachable face.

amp: $199 alpine MRP-T130 2/1 channep amp, 90wattsx2 240wattsx2

rca/speaker input, hl/lp crossover, bass boost.

speakers: $149 alpine SPS-1629S s-series 6-1/2" coaxials, 120watts peak power, titanium dome tweeter, hybrid pearl mica core

$747 total unless i purchase another set of speakers instead of amp under your thoughts.

also do you thin it waould be easy to install this myself with my dad? i have some knowledge of electronics from school elective electronics.

thanks for your help

If all speakers are standard now, I would definately put the new ones in front before the back, i mean unless u spend most of the time in the back of the car ;). Personally I would also buy the amp to run the speakers before buying another set of speakers but that is up to you. Sounds like a pretty good deal. It should be pretty straightfoward to install yourself but ask if the dealer installs the head-unit do u get extended warranty cos i know with eclipse you get another 2 years if they install it. Also the 6.5"s could be tricky if door holes are small but you should be able to work it out i reckon. All the electronics/wiring is very very basic aside from head-unit.
