Hi guys, l was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me and how you would fix the problem. All of a sudden, when l started my car, the rev shown on the factory dash was 2k and over time it dropped back down to 1k. But when l connected it up via consult and by the volume of my exhaust, the engine was actually idling at about 700rpm(stock).

Does anyone know how l can correct the tachometer? The dash has never been removed or adjusted in anyway as far as l know.

Thank You All

Do a search mate, there's heaps and heaps of threads on idle issues.. None are that different from yours..

1. Idle reset http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...amp;hl=fix+idle

2. Idle issues with forum responses http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Id...amp;hl=fix+idle

Sounds like your tacho is on its last legs, mine started out like that then it went nuts flicking back and forward.

I havnt been able to fix mine but i think it could be an earth problem because if i tap the dash it will either die all together or work normaly for 5 mins then play around again.

Any one know how to fix this glitch?

hi guys, ive diagnosed the problem on Consult and it says im idling at 700 whereas the tacho says 1500-2000rpm, so its off by between 500-1500RPM.

Ive done a search and nothing seems close to what this problem is. Has nothing to do with the AAC Valve as the correct idle speeds are shown from the ECU.

Do you think l should just change the dash?
