adgey
Why not organize a cruise there and just block the carpark first thing that should get some attention to the problem. We get enough bad rep as it is driving imports without doing something that would piss off the community Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208183-westfield-miranda/page/3/#findComment-3708416 Share on other sites

MaTBoY
I'd call them and arrange to speak to someone in person, i.e. a producer who will actually put a story together, can interview victims and also has legal advisers and police contacts. You need to call and show them there is a real story here. TT & ACA always play 'victim' stories. It won't be hard to get an audience with someone in their ranks. Good luck Am I the only one who sees that TT and ACA have a strong conflict of interest here... Sure our cars are getting stolen and nobody is doing anything about it. Sure it's more than likely that it's an inside job at one of the worlds biggest retail brands.... What your forgetting is that their targeted viewers 'old people and naieve do gooders (sorry to offend ) won't want to hear about us 'big bad street hoons' as victims. Hell, even worse, it might confuse the viewers! Heaven Forbid! It's a great idea in theory, but I think the key is to get other types of car's onto the stolen list for them to listen. maybe a few holden granges, or other cars that aren't just assumed with the street hoon image. if they did agree to make a story you'd have to be lucky for them not to turn it around into some more sensationalistic b((#*$hit that tries to blame us for our supposed 'car theft, drug, hooker, whale killing, child stealing crime ring of car enthusiasts'. I don't think they'll do anything, but if you were 'lucky' enough they'd take the story on board, BE VERY CAREFUL! siddr20
Couldnt agree more. I think the viewers will be happy if our cars were off the streets.. Atleast contact ACA etc and see what they think first. Peter did you try and contact them before? Anywyas i will speak to ya about it in person.. -FIGJAM-
ive thought about this and have asked for people knowing anything about people having their commonwhores n falcobores flogged. some have turned up in the miranda area. Generally the shire is a bad area from what ive learnt. im trying to find a range of cars that are being targeted, not just imports. Also if anyone works in insurance could you some how get a list of claims made for stolen cars in the miranda area? would be good to get some real high numbers, before i call ACA or TT. MaTBoY
It's not the shire that's bad. It's that bridge at alfords point that causes the trouble. if that road was blown up, the shire would generally be pretty quiet. Except for drunken bogan fights at pubs around closing time hahaha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208183-westfield-miranda/page/3/#findComment-3712481 Share on other sites
nissky
Just a quick question.... Are these cars being stolen with decent immobilisers installed? i.e. black wiring, 3 cutoff relays etc First skyline had a triple immobiliser with a touchpoint to start the car, and a cheap self installed second alarm with another cutoff. The way the second alarm was wired would allow the car to be cranked but not start. I know this would not stop a thief long but in a parking lot how much time are they really going to spend? I could probably bypass the above in 5 mins but this is knowing the locations of all relays, and control boxes. To do this i would need spare wiring, i would have the boot and bonnet open, and need to mess around under the dash. And there would be a siren going off inside a front guard with well hidden wiring. siddr20
Most of them have had no alarms whats so ever. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208183-westfield-miranda/page/3/#findComment-3727733 Share on other sites
nissky
So no insurance either, as they wont touch an import without immobiliser. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208183-westfield-miranda/page/3/#findComment-3727745 Share on other sites

-FIGJAM-
As most people guessed ACA and TT dont want anything to do with it. I faxed over insurance records and all sorts of information and nothing. Guys i dont know what else to do? cerci a couple of the cars were in the security section, which is the main reason as to why we think its an in house job. Maybe you got lucky? Anyways guys if anyone wants me to try something else or has any other ideas please let me know. Joe B
As everyone knows it is a definate no no to park your car in the Westfield Miranda car park.... and Westfield wipes their hands of it... they dont care that all these cars are being stolen, but i think we need to make a stand, and hurt them as much as losing these cars hurts us... the last thing the Westfield empire wants is bad publicity, TodayTonight and A Current Affair are busting their arses to get stories to cover and catch people out... Think about it, they do all the research and set the traps to catch these people out why not give them a reason to do it, maybe it will make Westfield overview their "Security Parking" policies in the protection of the cars that are parked thereJust recently the bf and I were greeted at the boom gates of the security parking by this young bloke and knowing the danger of leaving the car there I left my bf there with her... obviously the "security guard" didnt hear an alarm go off not knowing that the bf was still in the car waiting for me to get back, next thing this bloke is walking around the car scoping it out when my bf sat up and asked if he was right, sure enough he had nothing to say a fair bit of umming and arring before he choked out "just doing a patrol" of 15 cars that were in perfect site from where he was standing when we first saw him and funny enough he was looking at our car the only import in the parking lot... *a little to suspicious dont u think* I seriously think that these security guards get on the phone to their thieving mates who arent far to come and boost these cars, and ill bet they dont even charge em the $50 lost ticket fee as long as they get the parts or the cut that they want, ill bet any day these cars have been stolen from the "security" parking there is no record of this fee being paid, ( think about it, its a taxable item, therefore has to be recorded and a receipt must be issued) If this makes it to the media think about how much it would hurt that Westfield, obviously showing they hold no regard for their shoppers property, and therefore deters customers from parking there because of the fear that their property will be stolen even if u pay for using this scam of security parking which doesnt even prevent the loss of these vehicles. If they really did care dont you think they would have cameras especially in this parking area, obviously you pay the $4 to have your car inside a gate that isnt secure at all. Even if at a minimum they install CCTV cameras it would deter whoevers stealing these cars and perhaps offer a bit more protection. You might as well park your car anywhere within the common parking area, wat a scam it is! I think this is the only way to give Westfield the wake up call they need and will force them to realise that its not just a couple of people they have to deal with... its many drop me a line and let me know wat u think.... WOW! What a load of crap! Where do i start? Dont ask me how but i presonally know every staff member of the above Security Car Park. I know everything there is to know about the carpark including any information about car thefts that have been reported to Westfield...(If it wasnt reported then that person is an idiot because there is CCTV cameras in Security Parking) Guess what guys? There has NOT been any cars stoled from Miranda Security Parking EVER! Marni - Did you ever consider that the staff from Security Parking were doing their job? keeping their eye on the cars.. Is it an offence to admire a car? im sure every person on this forum has looked in the window of a car they liked. I know if i looked into the window of a car I liked and realised the owner was still in it i might be a little shocked an not know what to say.. What was this person wearing? Not that my word means anything to anyone on here, but i can say that nobody who currently works or has worked for security parking for atleast the last 5 years is a car thief, or even involved with car theft. (I am speaking about Security Parking Staff, not Security from inside the shops) $50 lost ticket fee?? Get your facts right guys! There is no lost ticket fee.. The staff simply check out the driver and car for any sigs of theft before letting them exit for FREE! I am happy to answer any questions about the Car Park if anyone is interested, i have no vested intrest in promoting Security Carpark. Only the integrity of the staff. Im do not have info on the free parking areas so park there at your own risk. I am sure these types of cars are targets in all carparks... I will say that Westfield Miranda Security Parking is exceptionally safe to park any car...
