Mysterious Orange Wire

So Im pulling up the other day and putting the hand-brake-that-is-really-a-foot-brake on and feel a bit more resistance.

I look down and see an orange wire has looped down too far and become disconnected from the immense tange above it.

I've no clues as to where is plugs in, anyone have any ideas?

turbo timer?

I have one stuck under the steering wheel (turned off since I got the car) and some wires for a remote start device drop out sometimes.

It's not the turbo timer or boost controller.

I can't seem to find anything that doesn't work because of the errant wire, so I suppose it isn't a big deal.

its the wire that holds your belly button in. If you remove it you are at a very large risk of having one or both or your arse cheeks fall off

(ie - NFI - there are a LOT of orange wires under there. Does it have any power running to it? If so, chase it back to the fuse box and then read the cover to see what it does)

Chuck a multimeter on it and see what it comes up with.

ok well if everything seems to work.. check wires that run down near there that you may not mormally use.

It's quite a thin wire

I think I'll just tuck it away for the time being, and play around with it at my leisure

will be something you dont notice you need til your life depends on it... ABS, SRS airbag...

if it's under that part, it's probably stereo, AC, window demist or dif lock buttons, check if they all still work.

Also check your brake lights still work, and your handbrake light comes on on the dash

So on a night drive tonight I notice it a little darker than normal in the cab.

I look at my dash... all lights seem to be going... air con yes

stereo yeah

Hrm. I know whats missing. an iridescent blue circle in the form of a boost gauge

The bloody light for the boost gauge.

....

At least is wasn't the afro comb holder. *phew*
