Gut feel is Holden dont have pools of money laying around. So woudl think that if they took the time to build the concept car then provided its received well they will most likely make it. So i am crossing fibers...and hopeully its around 350Z money

same here. i'll take the coupe 60 anyday, the fact that it's targetted E85 is also a step forward.

120 For a commdore only quick in straight lines

Says who?

The VT HSV GTS held its own against an E39 M5 on the Nurburgring, which is no mean feat. The new one is meant to have suspension isn't just along for the ride as the car leans on its tyres and prays they've got enough grip. When they build the W427, I'd love to see it lined up against the E60 M5 and see if it can replicate that feat.

You'll notice that Jeremy Clarkson, who gets to drive plenty of hot metal and has the R32 GT-R in his list of the 50 best sports cars ever made (and in his Top 5 handling cars ever) still rated the old Monaro and VXR as a driver's car.

This W427 is not a dedicated supercar coupe kind of handling so its no GT-R beater, but its not really fair to compare a "supercar" against a tuned up sedan. They both have different aims. Unless Nissan gets around to building that Infiniti sedan based on the PM platform then Nissan has nothing in the same space as this W427.

You may as well wonder why anyone in their right mind would buy a used V35 coupe when you could get a brand new PRB at the same price (assuming you built it yourself) which would shit all over almost anything in the corners.

Or ask why you would spend $150K on a car that only seats 2 people comfortably, and might fit 2 small people uncomfortably, when for $120K you could buy a car that will carry 5 in comfort when the difference in time to reach the legal speed limit would not be worth $30K, and the Commodore will turn practically every corner on a public road at the speed limit just as well as the Datsun.

120 For a commdore only quick in straight lines i can see all the cashed up bogans that work in the mines buying one of these, 30 grand more i can buy the new R35 GTR. Saying that it looks nice though but i wouldnt buy one.

LOL...i am an engineer, love my beer and dont dress all that well, nor am i that polished a character when you speak to me....and am an engineer. :) So i am most likely what most ppl would class as a bogan, espcially since im a blood nut :P

LOL...those bogans will most likely be enjoying a lifestyle you can only dream of, least of all afford

Actually the people that will be able to afford to buy and run HSVs and V8s will be tradies and cashed up bogans :D

To conclude this it is only still a commdore with a bigger engine.

You know what i find some members in this thread hilarious they say how can we be so single minded have you ever talked to a holden fan seriously jap crap this turbos are shit that and to get them to admit a gtr thumping out 1000 horses out of 2.6, 2.8, 3.0 whatever is an awesome effort all you get is thats crap they'd be nothing without the turbos, wankers.

They also dont seem to get that a car doesnt have to be fast to enjoy, best bogan voice....has to be a v8 has to be over 5 litres or else its slow and crap, tools.

I agree that holdens are very quick their good value for money for what you get ...performance wise

they have awesome tuneability ive seen in a holden mag at work cam and tune packages low 12's on a relatively stock engine fair effort i will give credit where its due

But my point has been long winded but it is coming if they want to be single minded fine thats cool but i can gaurantee that in a holden site twin cam crap 2.5 litre shit whats good for them is good for us

and if you love holdens so much go to their forum

oh buy a holden and walk into a world of depreciation

sorry if ive offended it wasnt my intention

Ok he we go...(puts flame suit on)

I dare any one to put a 'bolt on' rwd skyline into the 10s at the drags and drive it to work everyday with out it breaking.

or simply throw some cams in an rb and make 300rwkws.

The LS series motors can do that.

Dont forget a VZ HSV GTS won the production car championship against these hi-tech EVOs BMWs Etc

So to say there shit on a circuit is a load of BULL.

hahahahah still got a skyline pic though, and didnt an evo win bathurst holdens mecca

and that 7 litre thing only runs like 4.8 seconds to 100 its in the new motor mag or wheels can't remember which one

GTR owners would agree that a standard gtr will run anywhere between 4.7 and 5.2 depending on the mag and it only has 280 horses keep your 7 litres ill spend my money on a gtr

Edited by benkoau

Shame you cant buy/lease a standard GTR at the moment. Or carry the family on the weekend, school etc. Its a hotted up sedan, much like AMG/M cars.

If only it loooked as nice as the E63. Which brings me back to my scratched record. Nobody complains when AMG supercharge a 5.5L engine for their sedans, or brings out an NA 6.2L V8. Holden run a 6L and get bagged, up the pace with a 7L and they get bagged. Has anyone looked at the size of engines that are going into Euro exotics these days?
