taizi
Hey guys...because i am going to purchase a R32 GTR soon...but not too sure...would it be better to get a rebuilt engine GTR or ones that has been untouched? Also how many Ks...would be consider average for a 93-94 R32 GTR thanks! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208350-rebuilt-gtr/ Share on other sites
kitamijin
If it's untouched with over 100,000k's will probably mean you'll have to spend some money on it sooner or later, so a recent rebuilt one would be OK with rebuilt turbos as well (they don't last forever). As for K's who knows? It's hard enough to know if the k's on the clock are real or not anyway, most imported R32 GTR's here have had a cluster change. If you can find a GTR with books and original cluster would be the best but good luck with imports as the books are hardly ever there. It's wise to be patient and get the right one. Even if it took you a year to find it, you'll never regret it Taizi. One thing you can do is ask the owner for past paper work and diguise the fact that you're after pink slips as well. Funny, I keep all mine over the years and one thing you look for is the current mileage on the pink slip. If from one year to the next, the mileage has dropped, you have to suspect either tampering or a new gauge cluster has been installed. Any detailer or panelbeater will also tell you that bolster/carpet/steering wheel wear is a giveaway marker. And lastly, take the car before the deposit, to a Skyline specialist workshop for a detailed look and be prepared to pay for this check. Well worth the trouble. Tomek
Go the rebuilt one, make sure it's been done properly though this means confirmation of parts and work. Need less to say you'll hear it from everyone, the amount of money you will save buying one with all the work done to it is ludacris... There is an abundance of them for sale atm and the demand is low, owners having to negotiate to shift there cars.
