Installed a dual stage boost controller (turbosmart)c On my RB20 Now the car sounds like it's not runnng on all cyclinders, or has a bad boost leak.. then stalls. This is just at ide, the way i have it set up is. the hose flowing from intercooler nipple to wastegate (obviously with the bleede valve in the middle. arrow pointing towards the wategate. I plugged up the nipple on the comp housing with a screw.. anyway. so i hooked it back up to the comp housing ranther than the intercooler pipe and still the same..

--IT WAS THE INTAKE PIPE THAT CONNECTS TO COMPRESSOR, HAD CAME OFF A BIT--

thanks for the help, kept me looking.

Hmm, i returned it to facrtory and still the same. Somtimes, i wish it could just be simple.. and work. It worked on my 33 fine. Still die's at idle, and runs rough as. I took the plug to the AFM off when i put the boost controller on so i thought t could be that, but it's on there good...

So nobody has any idea? it's back to stock, checked all the hoses and wires.. all fine, the only thing i can think of. I drilled and tapped a hole in the crossover pipe, maybe a bit of shit got into the motor. (alloy shavings) but could this effect anything? It's running rough, hardley idles and smells like its running rich.

Are you certain that none of the cooler pipes have blown off?

LOL, f*kn weird isnt it? im a verry DIY person but this has got me stuffed.. i took it for a trash 1hr before i hooked up the boost controller and it ran fine, then put it on.. ran like shit.. chucked it back to standerd.. still shit! changed the AFM.. still shit... i dnt know! all intercooler pipes are fine. on another note, i'm pretty sure the 20 doesnt have a boost soinoid like the 25, cause the hose runs straight from the vacume nipple on the comp housing to the wastegate actuator.

i dont like the sound of this

was the pipe off the motor when you drillied into it?

I'd be checking the plugs and checking to see if maybe one of the tips has been damaged by some alloy debris.

that would be the first thing i'd do. if some alloy has worked ints way into the cyclinder i'd look for that before you try to fire it up again. that corss over pipe has a thick sidewall so there would be a few shavings flaoting around.
