Hi guys, ive just found the thread on my sump is stripped, so im in need of a mobile thread repairer asap. Ive tried macas thread repairs hes not answering his phone but, so if u guys know of anyone eles i can try please help.

Thread Tech 1300 847 323 dont think they do weekends though.

What is actually wrong with the thread, is it A) turning still after you fully do it up or B) starting in the thread and then jamming?

If it is A then you need to Helicoil it, if it is B you may be able to retap the thread, or you may be able to go to a 1/2" fine if you can find a sump bolt out of a old school car (wreckers)

The thread is a 12mmX1.25 pitch which is a metric fine, I hope this helps but I dont have a tap to suit, I can buy one though :cool:

The plug has stripped off most of the thread on the sump, so there is only a couple of the threads right at the back left. I went and seen a bloke at appleyard automotive down the road from me, he reckons i shouldn't be helicoiled cause of the heat the oil might generate so his going to retap it for a slightly larger plug. He seems too know what hes talking about, and I'm not confident doing something like that myself, so fingers crossed it should be all good.
