I just had a test done on a car im wanting to buy the results were

cyl 1 98psi

2 90psi

3 90psi

4 90psi

5 105psi

6 100psi

is this normal for an rb20det

mods are 2871r turbo, intercooler, gtr injectors, jjr coilpacks, bosch 040 fuel pump.

Thankyou richard

Not 100% sure what they're supposed to be for a GTS4, but I think as a rule of thumb generally you should watch out if they're more than 10psi difference? Can anyone confirm that?

It depends on the car and if its ever been rebuilt and amount of kms etc...

It's an RB20DET. What car it's fitted to is irrelevant.

If the test was done properly, then those figures are not good figures. Next step is a leakdown test to determine where the loss of compression is occurring (valves / rings / something else).

How much does a leak down test cost?

thanks for ur reply

Could any one else pls comment on these figures

Thankyou Richard

yes Richard. your engine is fairly worn out, however it is worn fairly evenly so will probably still idle smoothly and run ok, although it will be down on power compared to a fresh motor.
