R33 GTSt was midway thru 1993, not sure of the exact month...and yeah the R33 GTR started in 1995

also for the 15 year rule it doesn't matter what month in 89 the car was produced...it can still be brought in next Jan, even if was a Sept 89 car (for example)

The R32 GTS-T and other rear wheel drive models were built from May 1989 onwards ... the GTR and GTS-4 models were introduced a few months later in August 1989.

The R33 GTS25t started production in August 1993 with the official release date of the GTR being January 1995, although production on the GTR actually started in late 1994.

We will also be offering a purchasing service for people in Canada before the end of the year - there has been loads of email from people up there asking about 1989 model cars already... we have already supplied cars to the UK, USA, Sweden, New Zealand, etc.

I've got one... and it was under the 15 yr old rule (R31 that is)

I got it for 14,500 and it's FULLY LOADED!

As long as the car passes a RWC here in your respective state (which aint hard in vic) then your right.

You can leave the vast majority of mods on.

My car had everything.

Brakes/5-stud conversion/R33 engine/cooler/braided brake lines/full racing grade coil overs/short shift g'box/tight as diff thats probably modded too/ECU mods/rims/racing clutch

and there's more i cant think of ATM

the car makes 190kw on 9psi of boost... so this thing has some balls.

I say go for the 15yr old ones!

they all dirt cheap and loaded to the boot with mods.

R31Nismoid thanks for the reply mate, sounds like you got a pretty good deal :D When are you gonna up the boost a tad? ;) Should yield some very impressive results 190rwkw from only 9psi is quite nice indeed.

Was the $14,500 the total cost including everything? Ie. rego/stamp duty etc etc

I thought the only difference between a 15yr old import and a non 15yr old import was the compliance plate. I thought it still had to meet the 15yr+ ADR's which include noise levels, emissions etc.

Something completely off its tits would still fail the emissions tests, so yeah, you'd still have to take off a few aftermarket parts, but unlike the RAWS scheme you don't have to return it to stock spec. As long as it can pass ADR's its all good. +15 yr rule is pretty much like the old compliance rules, without the compliance plate. you still have to get import approval.
