nah, i chose suspension integrity lol

dropping ur car to the floor is so try hard, biggest rice mod i can think of.

If you insist.;)

My car is very low (maybe 2 inches off the dec), but most people are surprised what kind of suspension setup I have in it and it's hasnt been thrown together, it was all picked to perform.

Silk Road / Section RMA-8 coilovers (10kg/8kg prog rate with helper spring) with PROPER 8 point dampner adj.

S13 Hubs, Knuckles and stub axles on standard R31 LCA's

R32 front calipers and R33 Non turbo rotors

VS commodore rear calipers

Bendix ultimate front pads, Bendix advance handbrake pads

Cusco tower bar

3rds Productions Rose Jointed Adj. Castor Arms

Whiteline F+R sway bars

Noltec Adj. panhard rod

Driftshop S13 roll centre adjusters

Ikeya Formula steering rack spacers

Alloy steering bush

Urethane gearbox mount

Super-pro bushing all through car (Trailing arms/swaybar links)

7 point rollcage with rear tower bar built in

Ill also be putting a R32 steering rack in in the near future to get even better steering

Ive owned a R32, a S5 and 2 x S3 RX7's a 180 SX, a S3 R31 import (IRS) and another Aus Del 31, and out of all of them, my 31 has been the best performer. Sit's flat, and is very responsive. Has great grip (10 inch wide rears help) but is VERY easy to coax into a slide. I raced Karts when I was younger, and my dad has raced since he was very young (both cars and Bikes) so it's not like we stick china coilovers in and think it's the greatest thing ever.

Im not going to jump into the SK groupie bashing like everyone else does on NS.com, as Ive been a 33 with a full SK track setup, and it was brilliant...

But maybe commenting on a cars suspension integrity should be kept to yourself. Ill have to take you for a skid lol.... on the track of course.

Do you have any side-on pics?

Have to agree though. Definatley managed to pull 20's off. Look really good wiht the paintwork. Me personally Id lower it a tiny bit more, but you'd probably kiss the kit goodbye in a week LOL

What colour is that BTW?

Edited by R31 drift pig

Thanks

They pegasus rims. No mods to fit, but they rub on the inner guards so might remove them.

The colour is Mercedes Cubanite silver (more a champaign)

I'll dump it if I ever enter it in a show but won't go lower than this for every day.

pm me if you want anymore pics

haha yeh, im running SK's GB, but ill be the first to point out its not perfect. but i have to say im very impressed with how it performs, looking at 3kg spring rates, you would expect it to roll around a fair bit, but it just doesnt, it sits as flat as most coilovers ive driven on, and the same as mates with cheap coilover kits such as ISC and HSD's with 8/7kg springs, yet without the shit dampening.

dropping the car ridiculously low is pretty bad, i mean id only call it a real ricey mod if your doing it for looks, if your doing it for performance, well, i think youd be hard pressed to prove that point when every bit on information available in credible articles tells u otherwise. but if it works then great, i just think people often confuse a lack of traction with being good for drift, i see a lot of people in KE70's and R31's dropping the car on their arse and running 175/60's and sliding all over the place and then wondering why they cant qualify in comps.

not having a go, i just personally like to relate proven settings and information towards racing etc to drift as well. it comes down to preference in the end.

the daily's look so much better, as much as for some reason im skeptical they are GT4's. seems in ur thread there is similar doubt. only reason i have doubt is the first thing that struck me was the angle and concaveness of the rims, for the offset they are the usually pretty much straight, it is only the wheels with around +22 or less that feature a noticeable concave appearance. also with that concave shape, with a GT4 it is a more smooth curve, rather than a straight spoke pointing out then sharply coming back in, similar to what is seen with Koya drift teks, URAS NS-01's, DT-05's etc.

also the spoke shape is different to what id expect, the spoke is more angled in, from wide at the middle, to wider going towards the rim/barrel, the GT4 is usually more straight and overall wider.

haha well seems everyones the expert on lmgt4's on here without ever owning any. think ill be taking some pics of the badging on the inside soon.

the fronts are flatter. the rears are 9.5 wide. hence the more agressive angle on the spokes. it doesnt just depend on offset.

My silk roads are some of the best coilovers to come out of japan (even though they were probably made in taiwan or some shit), they dampner adj. ACUUALLY works, and is a simple 8 point, not a fully sick 36 billionty way. You can seriously feel the difference between point 4 and point 8.... Ive had Tein, JIC, HKS, and custom made, and these by fare are the best.

The ride height was also a by-product of changing to a S13 setup. A S13 coilover at full extension ie. wound to max height will actually drop a 31 30 - 40 mm..... My Front coilovers are only down about half way, and are fully captive even at full extension, and my rears are a little lower. The kit also makes the car seem lower than what It actually is too.

I dont have a massive lack of traction, the thing actually sticks like shit to a blanket. It was built as a circuit car, then modded to suit drift (alignment changes and spring dampner settings).

I run 225/45 R18's on my 10's, so enough tyre getting down. Id love to go wider when I fit my TD06 in the next few weeks, but I simply dont have the room underneath those guard lips.

All of this being said, the 31 is still a largely untested car, and I dont think Ive realised it's full potential.

Yet the one vital thing, which no matter how good the car is, will make it or break it - The Driver. :D

And as a side note, I run 205/50 R15's on my KE70 LOL..... Be even better when I change to my 15 x 8 -4 wheels. But with a 4K 1300cc powerhouse, under the bonnet, I aint qualifying for anything LOL.

:D

It's nice not to have a screaming match like on NS.com about suspension for once.

And Liquid Ice, I had another look at those pics, I really like those wheels. You'd be one of the only ones to pull of 20's in my eyes.

And look how quick this shit is gonna catch on.... the japs are sticking 19's and 20's on Z33's/V35's/R35's all over japan, soon enough they'll be everywhere.
