NISZILA
I don't think you can have the wires hanging loose, but otherwise it may be ok They might only get picky and tell you that it will hurt you in an accident, but other than that, I don't think they can say too much. ossie_21
It should be illegal because if I installed one in my car in a mentally disturbed period of my life, I'd probably get eye cancer. browndoggr33
my mate got a yellow for his monster tacho and when he got the sticker off we asked what the rule was they told us that it has to b mounted below the steering wheel and shift lights are illegal if they are connected. so where u have it should be fine just unplug the shift light and hide the cables so they cant say u just unplugged it if you get pulled over, they are for racing only. Topaz
I don't get monster tachos and bright lights that tell you to change gear. Listen to your engine talks people! Flash89
looks cool tho hehe. well i have one in mine shift light is easily taken off as for wiring, try and get a wiring diagram for the ecu and find where the rpm signal is, the rest should be like the wiring for the lights, ign, ground and such Edited March 2, 2008 by Flash89 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208586-is-this-legal/#findComment-3689435 Share on other sites

infamous_t
as for wiring, try and get a wiring diagram for the ecu and find where the rpm signal is, the rest should be like the wiring for the lights, ign, ground and such There will be an rpm signal wire at the back of the dash (for the dash tacho), ignition & illumination feed you should be able to get from headunit and/or back of speedo/rpm cluster. Pinouts can be found here... http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/diagrams.html Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/208586-is-this-legal/#findComment-3690056 Share on other sites
