Alright, now I had my audio done recently, which is really quite nice. I have a fiberglass moulded sub corner box for my left hand side of the boot, but there is an ugly hole in the right hand side from where the previous owner had a CD stacker.

So, my question is, is it worth the money for a second sub? Do you honestly hear a big difference?

I'd be keeping things symetrical so it would be a moulded sub box for the other side and the same sub (12" Infinity, costs a fair bit but pumps SO hard). Is there much gain? I mean, going from no sub > sub is obviously a big difference, but from 1 to 2?

Cheers,

-Kane

Obviously there is a difference. Double base... I guess it would be a hell of alot louder maybe not sharper tho. but then ive never had 2subs. I know my mate had two in his lancer n when the kickers went in metal sounded wicked.

You would need to make sure you had a selectable phase switch on each amp/sub, otherwise you could experience major "suck out", where the subs essentially cancel each other out instead of adding to each other.

It's also not easy to predict in advance as it depends on the crossover frequency and how far apart the subs are.

If you don't have a phase switch you can just reverse the polarity of your speaker wires on one driver.

Worth doing if you don't have enough bass, but not just to fill a hole in the boot.
