I have replaced the mast in the R33 antenna before. Its very easy and can be done in less than 45minutes and costs about $25 in parts.

I think it is possible to do without removing the unit from the car.

If it is the motorised part of the unit that is broken its more expensive (around $100 for a universal replacement unit that fits into the Skyline).

just took mine out for the respray, ummm pretty sure from memory you just undo like 3 bolts!took a bit of force to push the antenna through with twisting, only one problem with it up you wont be able to get it out from behind the jack mount!!! (with the antenna fully extended)

got a spare one here if you cant fix it, we are a bit far apart though!

Just take it apart and feed it down as far as it goes, to the closed position. Then take out ur head deck and disconnect the power antenna wire. The buy a booster and connect it into ut antenna plug. Then u will have excellent reception and no gay stickin up antenna!

How much is a booster ? that sounds good :P my antenna is stuffed but isnt stuffed if that makes sense, theres like part of it that will not come off, so looks like im gonna take the whole thing out. Anyone know fully how to do this, is it just the bolts as craved stated ? i will force the bloody thing down or chop it off if it is being stubborn hehe, thanks ppls

Hi,

I need to know how you remove the antenna so I can put a new mast on, the other one broke. So could you please tell me how to actually get the antenna out?

Thanks

ok get a pair of tin snips and cut under the first segment and the last. Remove the tongue. get sellys no more gaps and glue the top to the base/motor. undoe the antenna wire and forget out shitty antenna. I did and havent had a water leak or anything wrong.

Never use the radio anyway. and if I do it's only int he city with reception anyway.
