InterCooL
this pic is taken from my s1 r33 gtst (usual bolt ons, exhaust intake cooler, running 7-8PSI only), WOT 2nd and 3rd gear revving out to almost near redline i've tested with my mates r33 s1 AFM and his gives same readings i've pressure tested my intercooler piping and have 0 leaks (i'm 100% sure of this) is it normal for an AFM to get to 5.1v at redline? or very close to it? keep in mind this car is only making 170rwkw, only at 8psi (stock turbo) cheers for any help Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209145-does-this-look-normal/ Share on other sites

The Mafia
this is pretty normal. Only way to fix is get a powerfc and install a bigger AFM. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209145-does-this-look-normal/#findComment-3698969 Share on other sites

InterCooL
wow ok i'm so surprised there is no head room with the standard afm. i thought i would not have issues with the standard turbo! SECURITY
the afm has 2 points in the rev range where it maxes out. i found on mine that @ 3.8v at around 4000rpm you hit a flat spot, then again with 5v @ 5500rpm. because i tune vs. a map sensor with my emanage i've just moved the peak voltage at 3500-4500 to 3.5v, and 4500-6000 at 4.5v so the afm doesnt come into play at all. she runs sweet now.
