local petrol station keeps metho/kero

supermarkets too

just a 50/50 mix, pour in, cover end-holes, shake & stir, repeat shake part a few times, dispose of fluid, redo

eventually the 50/50mix will come back out clean

just use shellite. shellite is used for several things one of them is brake cleaner, it is a product known as x55 from shell it it the fastest drying solvent. thats why it is used in cleaning auto transmission and as the carrier in tyre shine (shellite and silicone), a better mix than metho and kero is 50/50 shellite and turps we used to sell taht as wax and grease remover

Yeah what the others have said works well, I used kero/metho on mine a couple of weeks ago.

Just make sure you dry it out well - mine still held a lot of kero after I left it on its side to dry for a day. Might sound queer but I left a couple of flood lights on it for 30mins and just let it all evaporate, in hindsight much faster.

no need to flush with water at the end. i've just used petrol to clean mine and it evaporates so quickly - but not as quick as hexane tho

i was amazed how much oil mine had in it!

yes petrol would be my choice of cleaner.

thats why shellite (X55) is used as break cleaner auto transmission cleaner carrier for tyre shine etc etc it has what is called the shortest tail (drying time) of the solvents thats why petrol drys fast as it main bulk is x55
