Tomei Pistons For Rb25det

I know the S2 ECR33 RB25DET uses 86.5 pistons, now the question is will 87 pistons fit right in without any boring as it's only .5 difference.

No way dude.And actually stock bore is 86mm.You will need to get the bores honed.If it the first time you engine is getting rebuilt,get the the 86.5mm(20 thou overbore) pistons

Unless you motor got completely lunched and your engine builder has to hone 1mm out of the bores.

Thanks for the Info. I guess i'll have to stick wiith the OEM 86mm pistons for now. We don't have shops/workshops that do boring here.

sori to hijack your thread but is it possible to change the pistons without pulling the whole engine out? I mean can all the work be done thru/under the engine ?? Thanks All.

I think the crankshaft has to be removed before any pistons or conrods can be changed as well. That means the engine has to come out somehow.

NTYSKY, Guess i'll have to find forged 86mm pistons if i wanted to go anything higher than stock.
