My 2cents.

What was your first thought? manual/auto.

About 90% of the time your first thought/choice will be the correct one.

If you have been a manual driver in the past stick with it as you will probably get sick of the auto.

Likewise If you have been an auto driver stick with it as you'll probably get sick of manual.

It all personal preference as others have said.

Personally i get sick of driving a manual after a few weeks no matter what car it is.....stop start traffic, handbrake starts on hills etc... one little less thing to worry about whilst driving. just get in and drive it.

There's plenty of get up and go whether in tiptronic or full auto mode, yes the ignition retarding during gear change does hold/smooth the change but does not really detract from the driving experience, plus it's protecting your driveline from shunting and breaking bits.

It's a sports/touring wagon not a race car.
