Well im aiming for about 230-240kws, i know i could do the conversion thing but i dun wanna ;p i like the RB20 if revs like a mofo.

i was thinking along the lines of mods:

-R34 GTR fuel pump (legend sled)

-444cc or 555cc injectors

-Cam Gears

-Cam shafts (been quoted $820 for a set of RB20 cam shafts 254 DURO and 8.5 lift) <- sound good??

-Bigger turbo, been looking at the hypergear turbos, i like the look of the TR43HF.

the cams part sound ok???

IMO I think Martin Donan from Willall Racing is one of the best tuners in the country and I know he has recently stated that a bigger turbo will always give you the biggest noticable hp increase so for a few $$$ more, I would be looking into getting that area sorted out first. Once you've got your turbo, fuel & ECU sorted out, its then a matter of choice as to what you are using the car for but cams & gears would be the obvious next bolt on to consider. My personal favourite for the street is the Tomei 'B' Poncam but rev210 who has had more hands on experience with cams on RB motors specifically may be able to further advise you in relation to choice.

Hope this helps.

im looking at almost the same...

except i have a

gt2530

gtr injectors

pfc

gtr pump..

and was wondering how the cam/cam gears are going to help.

cheers Sled. and who is this tuner? SA?

Yeah he's in Adelaide in the northern suburbs and he was involved with an R32 with Pete Hall that was the quickest in Australia 8.8sec 1/4 mile @ 160mph.

What side of town are you at cos there are 3 tuners down south that are also good.

Joel..

You can get a set of Tighe regrinds with a 254duration 8.5mm lift for $220-$300 + the std gtr sticks which can be picked up for 60-100.

rbman went with the 254's (708c grind), I believe they set him back 220ish. Simon went the 261's (805c grind) that set him back ~$300.

Don't go too big in the cams department with the rb20 as port velocity will suffer and turn it in to a lazy disappointing drive.

Myself.. 805c.
