Item: Garrett T04 Turbo

Age: coupla years?

Condition: perfecto!

Price: $1400 or so

To Fit: any ting from a lawn mower to a garden hose... NO CARS! (I'm kidding)

Location: Sydney (North Shore / Hornsby)

Contact: me, here, PM, thread...

Comments: I have this Garrett T04 up for grabs. I am not up to this stage in my car modifications unfortunately, and I simply can not use it (plus I have another turbo anyway ). It has absolutely no shaft play, spins well, nice and clean, looks purdy (?).

I will swap this for a Power FC for a 33 GTS-T S1.5, or perhaps some other items of interest? But a PFC would be just dandy :P

The same turbo is used on a 33 GTS-T in Melbourne, and with supporting mods, is making 350rwkw, and I believe has smashed a number of gearboxes too... It was in the latest HPI 'Skyline Special' magazine. I can get a pic of that if need be :P

PICCIES!

That's something I have to be certain of... Mine is a series 1.5, so yeah... thanks for the confusion Nissan! :D

But don't go anywhere, I'm pretty sure the engines in 1.5s are Series 2 engines...

I'll ask some smart people :)

this mite be a weird question but would this suit a low mount setup ?

You would be cutting it pretty fine to be honest... I would try though, it would be a sweet hidden little monster! :D

The problem is with the exhaust housing... it's rather large and really shows the potential of the turbo, where the compressor side in comparison is tiny... Like I've said already, I would love to use this turbo, but I'm just not up to that stage yet...

Ooooo.. cutting it close ayes....

im just looking for a replacement turbo to replace the stock one, but get a bit of power aswell...

You're best off getting a VG30 turbo (which I also have, but I plan on using for a short while maybe)... This turbo doesn't even have a wastegate...

The VG30 turbo has steel wheels (though I am yet to see an R33 GTS-T turbo that doesn't) and a larger exhaust housing...

Or you can get a miriad of other turbos... hi-flowed GCG one perhaps... the choice is yours  But this turbo is a mid range (these days) turbo for an external wastegate type set up... Something I hope to achieve one day, if I can ever find a damn ECU I like! :)

the t04 can be set as a low mount the turbo is peak power of 550hp its a t4 flange so it will go on a stock rb20 or 25

Haha, nah, I love it :D

I have to see what mine is running first... It certainly does NOT sound standard, and the PSI and power for a supposedly standard car don't match (178kw and 10psi without any aftermarket boost controlling)... after that, I will make my decision... I am thinking about chucking this in there, getting a new exhaust manifold (have a low mount one for built in wastegate) and a new wastegate, but I'm sure I will need an ECU one of these days, and if I can get that first, I will...

Unless an offer comes up, I will prbably get impatient and throw this on my car :D

Hows your stuff going?
