Hey guys, i went out to my car this morning to go to work, opened the drivers door and was greeted by a limestone rock sitting in the drivers seat with glass everywhere

All they took was my camera which was sitting on the floor (out of sight) and they left my helmet and CD case on the passenger seat, they didnt even go in the centre console or glove box (which has 2 bags of $1 ad $2 coins) but they dented the metal around the window (like they missed when they threw the rock. . . retards)

Rang the cops and put in a report but they said they cant do anything, so yeah. . im pissed off as most people would be :P

Does anyone know where to get a passenger door window for a 93 mark 4 supra? And roughly what the cost is? Are they hard to fit by yourself? Im just guessing that its not that common a car so im hoping a wreckers has one. . worst case is having to get one from japan . .

Hope everyone elses morning is better than mine. . . .

Daniel - Sorry to here :( its sucks trust me my car got smashed!!

how badly is it ??

can you show us pics maybe its fixable

otherwise you can try KYP - ben and ask he has alot of halfcuts

The dents arnt that bad but still thats not the point . . its still dented. . . the worst part is the glass . . i dont think the vaccume cleaner will get it all out, and i dont really want glass splinters in my ass

Is there a special way to get it out? or just get new seats?

Im sorting out the pics now

Heres some pics

As you can see the 3 dents arnt that bad but still i want them fixed. . . and where the rocks come through its ripped the door trim when it hit the drivers door.

But as you can see they left the helmet and cds on the seat and took the camera that was harder to get, plus i got very dark tint and its hard to see in during the day so would have been harder at night, even with a torch would have been hard. . . wankers :(

i've just been through something similar to you dude...

my brother in law has a TME EVO and parked right out the front door like 2 metres away they smashed his frame with a brick, we ran outside when we heard the alarm and they were long gone...

THEN two weeks later i hear tires squeal off then my brother in law runs in and says 'dude, that's your alarm'... we run outside and my rear windscreen totally shattered, car is gone...

and WHAT the F*CK we don't have any idea as to why this would happen besides the fact that we live in a really dodgey area and that there are stupid people out there that might possibly be jealous (you would understand what i mean if you know mirrabooka)

back to the point of the story, i have a huge list of wreckers phone numbers that might help you out, i would strongly suggest you shop around...

my rear windscreen;

Just Cars Insurance (my insurer)

-$2400 including excess etc.

Novus

-$2000+/-

O'Briens

-$2000+/-

these prices were supplied and fitted

wreckers... my first quote was $1975!?! only supplied

then i found one for $900

THEN $770... best price i found after two weeks...

shop around dude and if you still looking for some wreckers numbers just pm me or something and i'll give you the whole list as to the guys who i tried...

thing is they said there were NO R34 2 door rear windscreens available like nearly impossible... one wrecker told me to look by myself, don't want to upset you guys but made me question if my next car would be an import...

sorry for the large splur of info but if you need help dude i got the numbers...

dam!

that really sucks... yeah windows would be expensive for any import. And insurance is no good as excess is usually at the 2k+ mark.

Ive had my car broken into twice (not my skyline, my other car i drive around) so i know the feeling in both the wallet and knowing someones been thru ur ride. Although it was not at my house but at curtin uni car park. Dodgy place to park now a days.

Hope you get it fixed.. and agreed on shopping around for the parts.. however its going to be raining on thursday so i would suggest somethning temp there asap...

Good luck on the fix.

bad luck man,

happened twice to us, once in a my skyline and another in a lancer

u'll get most of the glass out, but best to take the seats off and the door trim off(there's shitloads of glass in there) and give a good vacuum, don't worry bout the glass splinters on the seats, they come out easy.

best is to ring around for wreckers, i found my drivers side window at jappartswa, they have heaps of parts

gluck

I'm guessing that's John's evo?

I'm lucky enough to park my car behind a roller door in my backyard, but I'm usually paranoid whenever my car is outside a mates place or in a public car park somewhere, & it's because of shit like this.

when i got my rear windscreen fitted, the place that did it 'wayne's windscreens' they vacuumed the whole car and basically detailed it for me!

i was going on a date that night and wanted the car ready and thought i would have to take it home and vacuum it myself but they did it for me and didn't even charge me for it...

very impressed, if you want their number too i'll give that to ya as well

    • Pretty much what you'd expect at that power level. Hypergear turbo, long list of supporting mods, full Haltech catalogue, etc.  I'd say this goes for most drivers, suspension is still a dark art for most people. And it's really hard to convince someone how much better their setup could be...
    • They are what I will be installing. 640s for me.
    • Hmm... From my experience you get about 0.25° camber change per mm of RUCA length change. So, to correct from -2.5 up to less than -1° (or, more than -1° if you look at the world as a mathematician does) then you'd be making 6-8mm of length change on the RUCA. From a stock length of 308mm, that's 2-2.5% difference in RUCA length. My RUCAs are currently very close to stock length - certainly only 2-3mm different from stock. I had to adjust my tension arms by 6mm to minimise the bump steer. That's 6mm out of 210, which is 2.8%. That's a 2.8% change on those, compared to a <1% change on the RUCAs. So the stock geometry already has worse bump steer than is possible - you can improve it even if you don't change the RUCA length. If you lengthen the RUCAs at all, then you will definitely be adding bump steer. Again, with my car, I recently had an unpleasant amount of bump steer, stemming from a number of things that happened one after another without me having an opportunity to correct for them. I only had to change the tension arm lengths by 1mm to minimise the resulting bump steer. (Granted, I also had to dial out a lot of extra toe-in in the rear, and excessive rear toe-in will make bump steer behaviour worse). Relatively tiny little adjustments having been made - the car is now completely different. Was horrifying how much it wanted to steer from the rear on any significant single wheel bump/dip. And it was even bad on expansion joints on long sweepers on freeway entry/exits, which are notionally hitting both rear wheels at the same time. My point is, the crappy Nissan multilink is quite sensitive to these things (unlike the very nice Toyota suspension!). And I think 99.75% of Skyline owners are blissfully ignorant of what they are driving around on. Sadly, it is a non-trivial exercise to set up to measure and correct bump steer. I am happy to show my rig, which involves nasty chunks of wood bolted to the hub, mirrors, lasers, graph paper targets and other horrors. Just in case anyone wants to see how it is done. I'll just have to set it up to take the photos.
    • What do you have in that bad boy ? Ill go with the 725cc since I'll be going with Nistune ( would definitely like more engine protection but Haltech is too far out of reach at the moment... plus, Ill probably have a pretty safe tune as its a daily, not gonna be chasing peak power 24/7 ahahah ). Are Xspurt a safe choice?  Pete's great. He didnt mention anything about traction arm length so I reckon it may be good. When I get some new wheels/tire later down the road I'll ask him about it and get his opinion on em. I heard from Gary that you've got the bilsteins too, are you running the sway bars too? and what other suspension goodies do you have installed or would recommend?
