teng
I was wondering, the R33 coupe comes with a spoiler as standard. Now if i remove the spolier, the trunk is not even with the sides of the car. I did see some cars having a trunk which matches the sides of the car LIKE in a 4-door R33. May i ask how did they do it? Maybe take a trunk from a 4-door and fit it onto a R33 Coupe? NA_Goodness
Either buy a flush one, or you can get your original one modified to sit flush with fibreglass ect. Not sure which one is cheaper though. Trent04
it would cost more to get the fibreglass extensions wouldnt it? by the time, the cut/mould the fibreglass, attatch it to the existing boot, respray the whole boot again, then u have to pay for labour aswell Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3712595 Share on other sites
NA_Goodness
Good point. How much for a flush fitting one? Is it fibreglass, or steel like a stock one? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3715173 Share on other sites
Mr Jollwah
I believe they're fibreglass Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3715191 Share on other sites
NA_Goodness
Thats what I thought, which makes them weak and illegal. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3715233 Share on other sites
Trent04
you can get a fibreglass one for around 500 and a carbon fibre one for around 900ish from memory.. it would only be illegal if the cop took a close eye and actually defected you for it, but i dont think they would be taking much notice of the boot, but thats just my opinion:) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3715371 Share on other sites

NA_Goodness
I wasnt going to get carbon fibre, but I think I mite now. Not sure. And ppl can smash fibre glass, but it looks exactly like a normal boot when its painted, so who would ever know? Unless u tell them of course Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3720938 Share on other sites
Michael_1882
You can by a little spoiler that sits in the gap and makes it look relatively flush. Better looking IMO, google drift wing, and press images, see if you like the look of that. NA_Goodness
Duck wing, Drift wing, D-Wing, Stealth wing, its all the same thing. EVERYONE has those on their cars. I agree they do look pretty cool, but I prefer the look of the flush fitting boot, plus its rarer, and that is what I'm looking at doing with my car, making it unique. Michael_1882
Fair enough. Oh well good luck you can do anything to cars, it's just a question on how much your willing to pay. The thread starter might be interested in a cheaper option that looks pretty similar Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3723546 Share on other sites
NA_Goodness
That is tru. I forgot about that. Andrew, have a look at the drift wings. They look cool. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3723839 Share on other sites
Trent04
i reckon if u get a carbon boot, u would have to get a carbon bonnet also..but yeh thats just my opinion Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/209899-r33-boot-mod-question/#findComment-3723889 Share on other sites
NA_Goodness
Yeh, it looks too wierd with a carbon bootlid and normal bonnet, like the car is going backwards. If u get a carbon boot, better get a carbon bonnet, and the thing between the side windows, and carbon fibre mirrors. Even carbon fibre door handles and rims! And my mind has wandered off again...
