Rear Cargo Area Door Motor Not Working

hey guys i have had the stagea off the road for a while (12 months) and noticed now the back cargo door isnt pulling itself shut anymore. Any ideas why and has anyone else had the same issue? I better start by checking the fuse but im pretty sure that isnt the problem so what else could cause it to suddenly stop workin? any tests i could do to check the motor is ok without removing the damn thing?

As you said, Id start with the fuse, there is a specific 20A fuse for this in the under dash fuse panel. Next check power at the fuse box then power at the motor. After that you prob have to start pulling things apart.

jase you would know if you had one, when the rear hatch door comes down it closes automatically. Ihave a s1 and itdoesnt have one... think it was an option.

grab a test light, run it to an earth, and have someone flick the switch (or whatever it is) and see if any of the wires get a signal. If they do and it still doesnt work, then there is a problem in the lil motor i guess.

To take out the motor itself ain't too much of a problem, just unclip the door cover and remove the motor by undoing a couple of bolts. Its a brush motor and also 3 microswitch contacts in cct. If the brushes aren't worn out then maybe a switch is stuffed.
