Since we are on the subject, what is involved in getting the parcel shelf out? Ive had a quick look there and it seems like a very tight area to work in.

Shove a crowbar under the rear seats.

Pry up to pop them out, pull out the seats.

Then there will be two bolts for the back rest of the rear seats.

Unbolt them, and slide the back rest up off the hooks supporting the back rest.

After that will be shelf, where you can easily slide off

Here is my diy shelf for some hints

anyone know of any tricks/problems with installing 6x9's in the rear parcel shelf and 6" splits in the doors of an r32 gts-t ?

i have splits in the front, and had to modify the speaker housing it sits in. apart from that, fits fine.

once the seats are out, its just screws

for the rears, cant you just get angled speaker mounts?

must easier then just making up a whole new parcel shelf :s

perhaps, but its 15year old cardboard plank pretending to be a parcelshelf.

Thicker parcel shelf will create a better noise; cheap and effective :D

i've got a custom made 20mm wood parcel shelf supporting 2x 8" subs. sounds alot better than my old setup with 12" pioneer sub in the boot.

very clear, doesn't rattle.. and the best thing: you can't hear anything from outside the car, but inside the car it's like a nightclub.
