OK we are in the process of taking measurements for the oil and water lines. But we cannot figure out how to run the water feed and return with a Greddy plenum installed.

Here is a pic of the inlet side of the block, can someone tell me what this bolt is? There is another one on the exhaust side under the welsh at the back of the block. Both of them are just screwed into the block.

they are the oil and water drain bolts....leave them in.

OK all, went to GCG and got the fittings, gaskets and oil drain for the turbo.

Also took measurements for all of the lines(good old string).

Took them all down to Pirtek to get all the lines and extra fittings needed. The guy there was very helpful and even custom made a few of the fittings to meet some of my clearance requirements. One thing which worries me though is the fact that the water return from the turbo to the block will have to be fed down through the exhaust manifold, Mr Pirtek man assures me the braided line will be up to the job.

Ill be using hi-temp silicone hose for the both the turbo and external head oil drains.

I also bought some bright silver engine enamel for the CAS, as against the new covers the stock finish will not cut it.

i give that line 6 months before the inside crumbles up (even if its teflon lined)

you should hard line them all now :D

heres what i did with anna's engine.

all the lines are insulated and run down the back of the motor. the 90 degree fitting on the turbo was replaced for a 130 degree for a better fit. :D

water lines are as follows, out of the standard position at the rear heater hose, thru the turbo and round the back into the throttle body out of the throttle body into the bottom hose nipple on the block.

I just took a measurement of the fitting i have on the external oil drain on the head. It sticks out 6cm. Will this hit my firewall?

is it a forged 90deg elbow?

if its not it will probably foul...pics please :P

yeah will be close. someone shold just do it with a bango instead oneday. i dont use them. cant see whats wrong with the 2 drains in the block directly below that said drain . lol.

anyway...... 7500kms later and with 6 litres in the stock sump still nothing in the catchcan :P

Just in the process of replacing the braid down through the manifold with hard lines. Do yourself a favor and do it right from the get go. The braid has limited life under those heat conditions despite being double wrapped and hard shelled with heat resistant material.

Im wrapping the manifold in heat wrap so i think it wont be as much of a problem. I am now going to route it another way anyway.

My manifold is HPC'd in black and the lines were shielded and the GCG lines still hardened. My oil drain is routed away from the manifold but yet it didnt help :D (there was also a heatshield around the turbo at that time)

Dave replaced the lines (custom speedflow line) when he built the the engine and all the silver tape in the engine bay is the same heatsheild tape as the v8's run....no problems this time round.... :P

Alot more expensive but a perfect fit .....

See how i go with the wrapped manifold and and covered lines. My lines are not from GCG if that will make any difference.

P.S Love the new pic :P
