Not sure If its a Chinese whisper, however, I've been told once u crack over 600awkw u would expect to pull down and refresh the engine every 5000km as the bearings lose tolerance, rods stretch etc...is this true? I was actually looking at buying an r34gtr which made over 600awkw but didn't for this reason.

Btw great result u should be ecstatic :)

Marko there is some validity to that though this can be avoided by detuning it to 599awkw but be sure to use a mainline dyno for accurate results.

+1 :worship:

I know an accurate dyno out a Giarraween

What retard told you that Marko?

maybe if it was using alloy rods as they expand more and also stretch/fatigue over time but even then good ones should last 20,000km with street/track use. though saying that, if you are going to that extent in your engine you probably arent using it on the street much if at all and are unlikely to leave the rods without checking them until one does let go.

If you look at extreme setups such as a drag car which is running thousands of HP, they need to be pulled down after each 5sec run, my mates dad has a 5sec drag car and he tells me the stories which is just mind boggling so u need to be rich with sponsorships.

Yeah I've heard it from a few guys actually but wasn't sure how true it was as to me, pulling it down every 5000km would be painful. 20000km on the other hand wouldn't be sooo bad for car which isn't a daily driver.

I was interested in buying Envy motorsports 'the jetters edge' r34gtr a while ago and he killed the sale when he told me it had its routine 5000km rebuild.

The veyron doesn't have a 5000km rebuild service interval so I'm guessing if you use the right parts, get the right person to assemble and tune it properly you will be fine?

Yeah but the veyron is an 8 Litre 16 cylinder engine. Not a 2.5 Litre 6.

Nytsky's engine is producing 91kW per cylinder, while the veyron is only pushing out 46kW per cylinder.

Thats a lot less strain on each cylinder. Also the veyron engine is built to the most ridiculous of tolerances in a humidity and temperature controlled room that is 100% dust free.

So your not really comparing apples with apples.

Nytsky, very awesome effort! However, what in the hell are you going to do with 546kW in a RWD car? lol
