It's not as if I was posting it up here to snitch him I knew before I posted it that there was no chance of my post being used against him. Previously veiwing this thread I have seen heaps of number plates so it seemed like the done thing.

Nothing wrong with posting number plates. They are public knowledge anyway.

Besides it helps in getting spotted.

Example: If you spot a silver R33 - that doesn't mean very much - especially if it mildly moded or a sleeper - that can be anyone's ride.....

If someone is driving like a douche - whats wrong with a little name and shame? Helps weed out the bad eggs.

If you don't want anyone on this Earth to see your number plates you might as well hide your car too - Because I'm sure the cops will not approve people driving around without them.

Saying number plates are public info etc etc is not the point it should be banned to list number plates its not your information to be sharing. I certainly wont be impressed with someone i dont know and never met posting up my plates freely.

if you want to 'weed out the bad eggs' save the hoon hotline number in your phone and give em a ring rather than post it up here where nobody gives to shits anway.

i agree with alr33x to some degree. if you are going to post up plates in regards to spotting someone then i think its fine (providing you are not spotting them in front of their house or something similar). however, i dont see the point of posting up someone's plates purely cos they weren't following the law 100%. why bother? unless they did a hit and run or almost cause an accident (and dont harp on about the increased potential to cause an accident) there is simply no point acting like the saint and posting up that sort of stuff. if you want to do it, join the police.

There's a difference between mobile numbers and number plates. People can't use your number plates to contact you.

The way I see it, people can say what they like. It's a free country. If you don't want people commenting on your behaviour then do it where no one can see you. There's nothing wrong with giving your opinion on what you see. Bear in mind that the roads are public property, they belong to everyone, not to mention that the behaviour of Skyline drivers (and other imports) reflects on other Skyline drivers. So someone may think it's ok to drive like a tool, but it might be me getting pulled over next week to be checked for defects.

As far as giving out number plates is concerned, I'm pretty sure (and would appreciate confirmation from someone who knows for sure) that a forum post has no legal standing as evidence. I can say, "I saw charli doing this", and even if a cop reads it there is no way it can be used in court. I would have to provide some sort of witness statement, and even that would have to be backed up by some sort of evidence. You can't get busted just on someone's say-so, unless that someone is a cop. That's my understanding anyway.

And if you have custom plates, you can't expect to be anonymous. People are going to see and remember, and isn't that the point? Custom plates are supposed to identify you. If you have normal plates then it's different, but if you've got custom plates you can't pick and choose when people notice you and when they don't.

please dont start with the reflecting bad on the skyline community bs again.. its been flogged too death in 11bty other threads. you can track someone down with a number plate if you really wanted to, and yes sure thats taking it to the extreme but its still possible. It should be treated the same way as the fact we dont go saying "spotted scareface_au at X location again man your car is there everyday!

And i dont know for a forum side of things but if i ring up say XXX 000 was sliding down the freeway they WILL follow it up and it can go to court if joe public wants to front up and say what he witnessed.. again long shots but its not the point

For all you know the guy charli mentioned had his pregnant wife in the car who was in labor and was trying to get to the hospital? perhaps he was just skipping traffic cos fk sitting in a stand still on the freeway regardless aint got shit to do with anyone here and believe me you'll still get pulled over and defected as you would have cos that shit is happening daily that you dont know about.. UH OH! better sell ya skyline if ya cant handle the heat in the kitchen

That's the one, i also spotted a GTR 34 white one parked 4 cars down from it.

Yellow car looks alright, im suprised it hasn't sold yet. I like the white one a lot though, mean looking car and well looked after.
