hey guys/girls

i got a Beltronics Vector LR that i received of a mate for free as he said it wasn’t working last time he checked. i found a power connection for it and turned it on, and as my mate said, it comes with a error.. it starts of normal and comes up with the normal start up display but after about 5-10 seconds of being on it comes up with . " ?LO1 CAL" i asked some of my friends and one said it may be a calibration error.

Does anyone know what this error is or what " ?LO1 CAL" stands for. also does anyone know whether this problem is fixable and if so an approx. price.

I found that powering it on from cold it worked fine, if it was in the sun for too long it would start giving me that error. Lucky for me it was still within it's 3 year warranty and I took it to a supplier and repairer and they actually replaced it (and with a newer model), place was called Neltronics in Subi.

i know with mine i pick up "K" band all the time

and someone told me there isnt k band in W.A, so im a bit confused

does it cost much to have them recalibrated?

i have a belatronics vectra 990

"K" band is the band used on most shops that have electronic opening doors, and is also used by Police with their radar machines inside their car.

yeh i usually get k band near shops and highway patrol cars

i turned x band off because it was really annoying

i rang up neltronics however the number that was on yellow pages, does not work.. If i try ringing, it just says the call could not be connected. the number i dialled was (08) 9388 9950, does anyone else know of another number for this store??

i found the number from the website, Should have checked their first ahaha.

The price is $95.00 to fix, if anyone else has the same problem.

OK.. here's the story...

"LO CAL" (or "MARKERS" or "PLL LCK") is a fault code describing some kind of error has occured during a calibration test. BELTRONICS are keeping their software to themselves to avoid Chinese manufacturers from reverse engineering their products and whacking on the software... smart hey!

To repair this issue we would hopefully have a replacement board here in stock... we simply open up your faulty unit... put in the refurbished board... set up the menu and bands and away you go. The faulty board is then shipped to BELTRONICS to be refurbished and reflashed with new software.

The software repair is $95.

In WA cops use:

Multanova (not multinova!!!) which is a Ka band radar signal... low output so hard to detect

Patrol cars which use a K band radar signal... strong power so easy to detect... BUT... remember not every car is equiped and if they are, they might not be turned on

Sgt Plod himself uses a hand held laser signal... very strong, very fast, very accurate, VERY NARROW so damn hard to detect unless its fired right at your detector at which point they probably have you anyway.

Scott, what about a replacement clip to hold it to the windscreen? Mine just broke, I managed to keep the original clip from my first unit, the newer ones aren't as good!
