Its a bid sad i have to leave a car like ours at home and not put on a show for you guys at these private track hire days.

There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that they are trying to discourage these days as much as possible. You should see some of the other ridiculous rules they have.

First time on the strip with my car

60'...1.882

ET...13.216 @ 103.18mph

Good 60' and ET Joe. MPH is lower than I expected. Definitely more in it with some practice. Sorry I could be there for coaching.

I think an open letter to the Minister for Sport and Education and also a copy sent to the Roads Minister may be required. This facility's use is being governed by a management who seem to want to restrict the amount of use by road registered vehicles. When the funding for this facility was granted by the Carr government (Morris Iemma was the minister involved at the time) one of the statements made was that it will take the racing off the streets and put it on the track where it should be. They want the police to "crack down" in illegal street racing, but they make the facility that will cater for this, out of reach of the common people (big $$ race teams never have issues with hiring the track).

Well MPH would have been higher but my standard rubber tube going from the AFM to the inlet of the turbo was not strong enough to handle the heat and the flow of air, it was collapsing  , and the car would just die until it opened up again. So until i get a stronger pipe I'll be able to go flat chat. And yes definatly more in it

Do the v8 clubs have as many issues as the turbo clubs do? Because WSID staff are quite anti-turbo imo.

In the beginning we had terrible problems, its slowly getting better. I heard that some of the existing rules may be relaxed a little in the near future.

Most recently we have had no problems what so ever with WSID.

The only real complaint that i have is the 11.00 sec cut-off, i would love to see it at 10.00 secs if the car & driver are appropriately licensed. throw a turbo kit or nos on a commodore & you are straight away running 10's.

The cost for the day is somewhat prohibitive for some willing drivers, especially the younger drivers.

Cheers,

V8Owner
