Superlap Australia
Yes Wayne you can remove all of those. In regards to the Pro Driver thing Ian has informed me that NO Pro driver ( This being anyone who has been payed a salary or wage to drive in any competetive form of motorsport ) will be allowed to drive in Clubsprint Class. Roy
How about the registered owner of the vehicle has to drive? Isnt that easier and removes all arguments. After all shouldnt this class be for the club guy that races his own car. I think amongst club drivers i can hold me own, but a semi professional driver will still leave me for dead by the tune of over 2 seconds So happy to improve as a driver and catch the better club level drivers....but am never going to bridge the gap to a professional driver who has at least 10 times the seat time i get a year If they are going to run their own cars then cool, sux to be me....but dont want the same driver punting 3 cars in the class so i am getting beaten 3 times by the same driver Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/210939-superlap-timeattack-is-ago/page/13/#findComment-3746180 Share on other sites
N1GTR
and that 20 minutes dissappears so quickly if you have a drama!! FIngers crossed no one has any major dramas Sorry Steve, should have been a bit clearer. I use RE55's, and I wouldn't want to pay for, say, RT615's just for one event when I wouldn't use them again. No probs mate (i know what you mean, i hate paying for street tyres) How about the registered owner of the vehicle has to drive? Isnt that easier and removes all arguments. +1 to that comment Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/210939-superlap-timeattack-is-ago/page/13/#findComment-3746195 Share on other sites

Nah, I'm looking to buy one at the moment. I'm probably going to go with Brown Davis here in Vic, which is who Troy had his cage made through. Just have to go and discuss plans with him and get a quote. I spoke with Bond on the phone a few months back, and I wasn't too happy with the price, considering I needed to have it put together here, and there is still some modification required. I also didn't like his attitude too much, but was just curious to see what prices you got. Noddy
I got Bruce Dumbit at NRW Rollcages in QLD to make and install mine. was hassle free. I priced up a bond cage too and thought it was a bit pricy for something that was not fitted etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/210939-superlap-timeattack-is-ago/page/13/#findComment-3746836 Share on other sites

Yeah i got a price of $880, and i got the same service for free I got Bruce Dumbit at NRW Rollcages in QLD to make and install mine. was hassle free. phunky_monkey
They seem quite reasonable, but it depends what you want I guess. He's going to show me some designs, and I'll let ya know. I'm hoping to get down there this weekend. Check the rollcage thread, Troy's cost around the same as your quote, but that's installed. Was your quote installed by them? Bozman1
Sweet, at least we have sorted the so called 'PRO' driver thing out. Normally for motorsport you need to have a high standard to enter events if there is a driving standard involved. I have never been paid so I am entering in both classes At any level of sport you have different levels of skill and this event should be about putting on a show to the public and showing them the full potential of these motor vehicles. A number of workshops that I know of do not have vehicles eligable for open class and were wanting to run in the clubsprint class. They have drivers for there cars so that they can show off there products to the public and be as competitive as they possibly can. Why should we limit the driving standards!!!!! I am trying not to swear. Anyhow, what chance do I have......both of the cars that I am driving only have 4 cylinders and one diff!! I am trying not to swear. If your a workshop and entered in the clubman class one would think that there wouldn't be much to show off besides bodykits and wheels, not trying to be rude but if I had a workshop I'd want to show the public how competitive the car can be on semi comps not shitty street tyres.. But hey, that's just me.... Unfortunately the rules cannot accomodate for everybody, so I reckon we just get out there and have some FUN!! AND PLENTY OF DRINKS AFTERWARDS!!!! Bozman1
And FUN it should and will be. This is what events with cars and good like minded people are about There are some pretty good tyres available for clubsprint. And you are right Jack, about these workshops with 'BLING' It is just some of them do not have proper cars set up for open class.
