Please explain to us how we are supposed to "go out there give it your best whatever class" if according to the current rules we dont fit in to either class?

well sadly that is racing. most cars wont fit most classes most of the time.

if you want to race in a class you need to comform to it. otherwise just have fun at open track days. in this case your car is out of club due to engine conversion and out of open due to no cage. I can see the problem there but the only solutions are either make the car fit the class you want, or contact nathan about possibility of relaxing the rules that exclude you.

fatz mate, you couldn't drive a greasy stick up a dogs arse. lucky for us you have other 'talents'.... big boy.

I hope you come. and if you don't have any of your crap R31s working I might even let ya steer my silvia but I get to keep all the prize money.

Meh, maybe I'll just spectate... :ermm:

Fatz you need stronger springs on drivers side.

Re the rules and things maybe there should be a Bitsa class. Maybe booked out with cars that fit into catagories no problems. Hard line in pleasing everyone I don't envy you guys running it. There certainly is lots of talk and let's see who actually does. Roy got a goal post now, start leaning up.

I say bring on handicap system like Zeds for no front diff, 2 to 3 seconds.

This thing is going on.

If you want to handicap yourself by choosing an inferior track car to build thats something your going to have to live with :P

Two or more Zed's parked within 20 meters of each other turns a carpark into a marina!

Wow... I hope the event is better than this thread. :P

I suspect there will be a number of people out there having a cry afterwards. But that is just how it goes.

WOW, thanks for your constructive comments...

Are you going to be there???

No because they have not made a class perfectly suited to my car that I will win and the entry fee is more than $1. I did a 30second lap in the wet with retreads in the wet so my car would win but blah blah blah complain complain...

As well as class wins, don't forgret the all important bragging rights of having the fastest white R33GTST with silver wheels, the best almost lose, biggest smoke screen, least laps completed, deepest into the sandtrap, longest brake lock up, etc etc. There are plenty of contests within the classes to keep the masses entertained.

Cheers

Gary

Guys you have to realise that some of the rules are still not finalised as we are waiting to hear back from cams. We have put the cage ruling in Open Class INCASE that cams come back and say that you WILL need one. If they say you wont need one then the rule will be gone. But we would rather tell people they need them and then they not need them rather than say you dont need one then turn around when cams get back to us and say oh wait you do need a cage sorry. Untill cams get back to us ( we have been waiting since before the website went live which we got rushed into ) then the safety rules are still open so dont get to worked up over it. And if it does come down to the fact that you do need a cage it will be a cams call not ours.

that is cold!!! it's on now johhny. take no prisoners.

im not fat im just big boned

and barron that silvia loved the concrete wall…. loved it i says (one another note that stock silvia did a 1:23 around the gp and it had nothing and the cheapest re-treads I could find)

Hey big bones I know you can drive and was that the Silvia with 3 litre engine and positive camber in front end and three wheel studs on one of two wheels? Have a go fatz no puss that's for sure.

DiRTgarage over cooked that one. It is all bla bla until the rubber meets the road, and not a straight line so takes some skill and lots more to it. Not just power but delivery of power, brakes, cooling of brakes and drive train and engine, suspension and can be lots in this to go fast and throw in aero. Anyone can go in a straight line and don't under estimate a Z. Keep an eye on your mirrors for the SLOT CAR. PS It will be good to have you out there with us.

Hey Super lap Nathan don't take these crazies on here seriously they just yappin mainly. Besides we know you will do the best you can and give the zeds a favourable handicap.

    • Yeah 4wd (boosted) has a recess in the firewall for the booster, and 2wd is flat - the example in the link shows the flat surface. When you deleted the booster, did you just attach the factory slave cylinder directly to the recess in the firewall with no adaption?
    • Yes, but no. You need to keep the mating surfaces bare (ie the flat faces where the caliper and upright pads touch the dogbone) and also the internal threads will remain bare (unless there are no internal threads - do they use nuts on all the bolts?). So you can slow down obvious external corrosion, but not all of it. Anodising would be required to provide decent protection to the alloy, but I'm not actually sure if you should anodise something that is all about the strength. Anodising does reduce strength significantly. Like, up to 50% on some alloys for high thickness coating.
    • Thanks   does painting on aluminium work or stop them from corroding?
    • 'Sgot nothing to do with them being Japanese. The climate in the north of Japan has similarities to the UK - the cars are made in the knowledge that they have snow and salt, and they rot there. Cars made in the US rot like buggery in the US. British cars have always rotted regardless of the weather. They will rot indoors in a climate controlled bubble! The brackets are not unsafe yet, but they will get that way. They may well corrode where the bolt threads are in contact and the bolts could just jump out without warning.
    • So unsafe would you say now?   little bit of has come off, guess road salt is a nightmare for Japanese car. Mx5 here have a well known issue or rotting
