I was thinking your place would be good for post race punch up and beer fest. any scores not settled on track can be dealt with the old fashioned gentlemans way. with a glassing.

I love that pic on the previous page that you posted John.

I remember that day.

In the pic I can see my fellow driver trainer Benny in the silly seat with Jason driving his GTR.

At this stage Benny has fire coming through the floor and trying to burn his feet :P and I think he may have been telling Jason....can't remember exactly what though

GTFO!?!?!?!

:)

lol. jason's car rocks. It once melted my shoes to the floor in the passenger seat. great fun though.

Was that Ben in there, he is game. Took three fire extinguishers to put this one out. I would never get in a car at the track with this crazy driver.

RE Dave Loftus I think he could be a dark horse ring in that might thump us all. He certainly knows how to set up a car and vast experience and good driver. More power and going on a diet hey. I migth get that front diff installed.

don't write jason off too much you boys. don't forget his place is about 5kms tops from oran park... I reackon he's done a fair few sneaky laps around there by now. :)

give 'em hell jason!

don't really know how Loftus could ever be called a dark horse, if I was putting money on someone it would be him.

lap record of 1:15.5 in restricted IPRA trim, set in race conditions and on 048's is pretty impressive. He could turn up in that spec on better rubber and knock a couple of seconds off.

nathen i never told you i had retreads so stop talking shit and i will see you at the track big month

Jason, As I explained to you on the phone after you had a go at me I NEVER said anything about retreads I said you were on rubbish semi slicks. NEVER did I mention re-treads. Please read what I have said next time before you ring and abuse me. >_<

Re Lofty I meant no been in our scene as such, but obviously will be.

Yep some big cars, big ego's will be turning up. At least we won't be fitting for the same corners, so should be tidy and only bruised ego's.

Go Jason have a go.

shame our car doesnt qualify for the Clubsprint class >_< there is no way in hell i am even going to go near the track with seasoned racers like the Hi Octane car and the likes on the track :( not to mention the lack of roll cage in our car :(

But its not a race. Everybody will be racing the clock so there wont be any door to door racing. People show each other lots of respect with space to race and pass. Nobody wants to get held up on a good lap so the format lends itself to a wide cross section of cars and drivers. Give it a go!

ah, fair enough. I guess he's probably less known in these circles.

certainly are some fast and interesting car/driver pairings in open class. If I had any confidence in my CA18DET Datto giving me some value for my entry money instead of an early return to the trailer, I'd have EOI'd that instead of the Supra road car. wouldn't have been in the running outright, but would have liked to see how she stacked up against some of the rwds. But I'll be there with the Supra in Clubman having some fun and a front row seat to see these Open class weapons.

RB26 S14 John :D Its not getting caged so it wont be getting entered. I would have taken it out just for a thrash and an excuse to get it round corners but the lack of roll cage rules me out straight away.

Roy, not entirely aware of the program but knowing some seasoned racers will be out on the track i am not about to get in their way. I have literally about 30 minutes of circuit time under my belt and even that was many years ago. And even if it was individuals who had the track entirely to themselves the lack of roll cage rules me out :D

    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
    • Silly question, as I bet you've checked already, but the motor turns over by hand yes? I suspect Neil has a spare starter, though if not, I believe I have a spare R33 (or two) starter.
