Everyone is busy preparing......

....their excuses to post here on Sunday.

Paul....interesting part of Luke's history to post. He has had lots of great performances, but holding the lap records for a very poorly attended production car series which only lasted 1 year is not really the highlight. Especially when we all know the trick to winning production car races is picking the fastest car in the first place. The BMW 130 was definately the car to squash those pesky mangas and pulsars.

you make it sound like it was easy Dunc's...but whats the point of taking a knife to a gun battle.

Wow that was a shot across the bow Paul. Love the Marina bit, yes he is a fellow silor and smokes a pipe wears a cardy.

Where is GTR Jason's entry, or is it a late grand one???

I am going to Oran GP today for testing and bed in new tyres, I hope to try different springs with Sydneykid this afternoon.

Thats exactly what i was going to post. He is no doubt a good steerer, as he has been around for a while running many sorts of cars.

The only reason i remeber Luke is years ago in the 2L BMW touring car he started on the back of the grid because he missed qualifying because of shabbats or something???

The other thing which will be interesting is to see how he goes behind the wheel of a car with some grunt and weight:)

That may have been taken out of context...Duncan is a very active member in the sport here and i was surprised to not see an entry from him. We are all in the same boat (no pun intended John) at the end of the day and to see Dunc's fronting with only words on a forum is a bit of a shame. I am aware at the lack of respect he has for me and what we do...thats just something ive learned to live with.

Got a two car team fronting to give this a real shake in both classes next year...this year we will be just finding our feet.

Well, we all cant be blessed to afford days like this. I mean the entry was enough to make it even more difficult to enter, not to mention that track time wise running may be less then other track events.

But it will be good competition and a good event which is why i am feeling the loss for missing it. But that said, i like the idea of being able to afford laps at Silverstone, Brands Hatch etc later this year so :)

Yep sure will Luke has driven my car only around the streets but he is amazed on how hard it pulls. He has never driven a GTR with power before. So hopefully after the first seesion he should have worked the thing out. Be very interesting to see how he goes one thing for sure is that he knows oran park like the back of his hand. So i think ive done the right thing letting searly drive my car. Im a hopeless driver & would probably end up hitting the wall.

Personally the only reason i would let someone drive me car in place of me is if they were paying for the whole show and that way i could sit back and see how the car goes without having to pony up with the pennies. If i was payign entry, tyres, fuel etc there is no way you could get the keys out of my greedy little hands :) So hats off to anyone who is letting other ppl pilot their cars...

    • Yes, ther are plenty of [racist statement alert] terrifying 50+ yr old ladies of a certain ethnic origin who have no demerits yet still manage to park their cars on top of roundabouts, hanging out of multistory car parking structures and other wild shenanigans. Somehow they puddle through years of driving without ever attracting the attention of the cops, yet the whole time, they are an instant away from doing something spectactularly stupid.
    • GU dashes are also know, especially on the tach, to have issues with one of the caps and another module for the power supply, and it will cause tacho to drop, also happens on the odo/Speedo too. It's why you never trust a GU patrols Odo, as when the Speedo drops out, the odo stops counting too...
    • There's often an inverse relationship between having no demerit points and actual driving skill. Drivers with stacks of demerit points, sometimes on the edge of losing their licence ironically tend to have better car control when things go sideways. (based purely on broscience and data made up).
    • it's exactly the same sounds like you have either a faulty tacho OR issues with wiring
    • Hello First, I apologize if this is not the correct forum. Let me know and I will move it to the correct one. I'm having a problem with the tachometer on my Skyline R33 with an RB25DET Neo engine. I'll tell you from the beginning. I'll tell you from the beginning. I have the RB25DET Neo engine installed in a Nissan Patrol GU, with a Link G4X control unit specifically for that engine,  and I have fitted a Skyline R33 tachograph to the original GU dashboard, but it doesn't work properly. I have the tachometer connected to the positive and negative terminals of the GU panel's wiring, and the signal cable is connected directly to the ECU output pin, but the rpm fluctuates widely. Can anyone tell me if the output signal from an R33 ECU is the same as the output signal from an R34 ECU, or if the voltage and signal type are different? Regards and thanks.
